Any Sacramento People?
Hello there...
I'm new to this site and I'm so glad to find others from Sacramento. My doctor is Dr. Koura with Methodist Hospital. He has a support group every 3rd Thursday at 6:30 in a building behind Methodist Hospital. I haven't had my surgery yet. I have one more month of weigh-in, then, all my tests and a visit to Dr. Koura. I work in education so I'm so hoping I can have this surgery this summer while I'm off.
I glad to hear all of you are doing well with your surgeries. I am ready for a new beginning to my life.
Glad to meet you all.....
Marie

I lost 50# before surgery and I'm down about another 100-1005# since surgery... 13 months ago. I work in the evenings, so my support has been forums... there are 2-3 I visit, but I've heard a bunch about the OH conference - I thought I would check OH out again. :)

Hi Marie,
The first couple days of pureed foods I had a rough time; I was very thirsty so I wouldn't wait an hour to drink and I think that is what caused me to get sick. After a couple days I seemed to figure it out and haven't been sick again until yesterday. Yesterday I ate that one bite to much and I was miserable. But overall I have been handling the food pretty good. Pureed stage is what I am at and I have been eating a lot of scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, etc.
What stage are you at?

LOL.... I am at the stage of waiting. I have completed my pysch eval, I have one more month of weigh-ins. June 1 I have an appointment for a complete physical and on the 4th a mammogram (which I have routinely because I have had breast cancer). I work in education so I am hoping to have my RNY sometime in July so I won't have to take time off from work. I tried to time this correctly but you never know what can happen.
Lately, I've been researching the different types of protein drinks and/or powders, what do you suggest?
I'll continue to pray for your recovery,
Marie
