Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can address this topic. I am concerned about my anti-depressants and seizure medication being absorbed properly after surgery.  I know this will need to be addressed with my doctor at some point in the future, but I'm wonder if anyone has any information or advice for me now.  Still waiting to hear from Insuance for approval of RNY.

Thanks. Amy

Hi Amy,
I take Lamictal and some other meds for bipolar disorder and I'm almost 6 years out and my meds work fine. it might be possible your doc might have to adjust your meds a little.
gl on getting your approval

You just can't take time released medication because they won't stay in your pouch long enough. You need to take smallish pills too. Make sure that you can break pills in half if they are too big. My anit-depressants do fine for  me. You do need to talk to your surgeon though.
