First off, congratulations on your surgery date coming up.  How exciting for both of you.  As for what to bring to the hospital, well other then a comfy pair of slippers that are skid free (hospital floors are very slippery), bring a pillow that you like if you are picky about pillows and some chapstick.  I find my lips get very chapped after surgery.  Most everything else you will need they have there.  Oh, but be sure to bring comfy clothes to go home in.  Tight jeans probably aren't the best idea.

I was an RNY patient and was in the hospital a total of 2 days.  From what I have heard, lap banders are very often sent home that night or the next day so you might be a very quick in and out.

Either way, good luck to both of you.  How exciting that you are doing this together.

I just had lap band on July 6th. I had my surgery at 1pm on the 6th and was discharged the next day at 4pm. It is a pretty short stay. It has been 4 days and I have lost 8 pounds. The recovery is fairly easy the only hard thing is I have a 1 year old I can not lift. I brought a pair of slippers and a change of clothes to go home in. Other then that I mostly slept.
