I hope everyone had a great monday...and back to work.

I was off, even though they called and wanted me to go in, but I told them NO!! Beside I was making even MORE peanut brittle.  I hope I am done. I made 50 pounds in total. All I can smell is this stuff. I am hoping to be done and that no one orders today, but it seems when they see the stuff, they start thinking how much they would love some. UGH!

So I worked on Saturday but was not able to get use my computer because my nephew was sleeping on the sofa. I guess I will have to be rude and just tell my sister NO more if I work the next morning. I hate to be mean, but enough is enough. If she wants them around, MOVE OUT! I hate being so mean, but it screws up my whole morning. I like sipping my coffee and watched in the news. Relaxing before the day begings.

So what did you do over the weekend? and how was your monday morning? What do you have planned for the weekend up coming. With the holidays coming up so fast, what do you have planned for them? I work! Oh joy!.

OK time to get moving and sip some more coffee.

Trust in yourself.

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,

Lu that sounds like fun making peanut brittle but I am sure after about 10 lbs of it I'd be done!  LOL  You're a wonderful sport.

It was party weekend at our house and we're done with our parties and all turned out great.  Monday was great at work too.  I work 4 more days and I'll be off for 16 days!!!  Yeah, I can hardly wait.  I so need it.  I love it 16 days off and only use 5 vacation days.... that new math works for me!!!  LOL

This weekend on Sat. is San Jose Saxophone Christmas, 200 + saxes coming together to play 2 concerts of Christmas carols.  I can't wait, we have such a great time as there is a group of us that go together and then do dinner after.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Hugs
Barb

Morning Lu and Cali,

Well it is raining here (so missing the nice warmth I had in So Cal this weekend)!!  I was good this morning and have already done my 50 minutes on the treadmill.  Now it is time for my vitamins.

My director is joining us today, lets see how much work I get done.  One of my staff got stuck in Louisiana and was not able to get back to work this week.  These storms back east have a ripple effect.

Oh well better get going.  Everyone have a great day and be safe.

Hey Lu and everyone else....

Lu, I don't care if he's sleeping on your couch.  If he wants to sleep there then that comes with a 5AM wakeup call so you can get ready for your day.  If he doesn't like it, he can go find someone else's couch.  DD and her kids take advantage of you and the only way it will stop is if you make it stop.  I know you don't like being "mean" or "harsh" or seemingly "selfish", but none of them pay you rent and as such, it's your house and you call the shots.  Puff out your chest Lu, and put your foot down.  Enough of this with DD et al taking advantage of you.

OK, I'm done yelling.  I'll stop now.  I got your OH response to my brittle question and your invitation to come over and make it with you, yesterday.  That didn't quite help now did it.  I don't know why it takes so long sometimes for responses from here to reach the intended party.  Oh well, next year I'll learn how to make it.  I don't want to bother you now for some.  You've made enough.

Nothing special going on here.  Just another day of work.  I am reading a really good book now though.  I'm on the 3rd book of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.  I've read that one, then the one after if, The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest and now the final one in the trilogy, The Girl Who Played with Fire.  I will be so sad when I finish this last one because there are no more.  The author died so that is the end of it.  I'll just have to find something else to read I guess.  Now that I have my Nook e-reader I've become a voracious reader again.  I had forgotten how much I love to read.  And now my Nook just makes it so simple.  It's like walking around with an entire bookstore in my hands.  I love it.

Ok, time to get to work.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi there chickadee!!

I read here that you have a Nook.  Did you compare the readers before you bought one?  I want to get all the boys' in my life one and I don't know whether to Nook it or Kindle it.  Can you give me any recommendations?

We almost gave you a call Saturday night.  We were on our way home from Arizona, were staying in Palm Springs and had tix to see Kathy Griffin at the McCallum Theater.  It was soooooo freaking funny!!!  I know whe is really raunchy, but the stuff she sas about the Palins and now Miley Cyrus are priceless!!

We were ending our vacay.  A twelve day vacay, just Jeff and I.  Talk about heaven!!  Our destination was a town in Southeastern AZ called Bisbee.  It is an old copper mining town that has been turned into an artys fartsy type town.  Their town credo is Keep Bisbee Bizarre.  It was the most wonderful place.  I think we have found a new place to get off to that is still off the map for most.  I am sure it will soon become a destination spot though.  We met this really nice couple that lived there and endid up hanging out with them the four days we were there.

Anyway, any info you can give on the Nook/Kindle would be really appreciated!!!!  Thanks!!!!!

BTW, I hope all the kitties are feeling better

Hola Mammacita....

Ok, first, we weren't home Saturday night.  We decided to go up to Big Bear for dinner and walk around town.  It was gorgeous up there Saturday night.  Anyway, your time in Arizona sounds great.  I haven't been to AZ in years.  But Palm Springs, love it.  Mike and I went out for a mid week retreat in August of all times.  But the hotel was empty as were the restaurants and it was just what we wanted.  Some time away from the house but not too far and just relaxing and enjoying ourselves.  Those are some of the best vacations.

OK, on to the important stuff.  Yes, I did research both and I chose the Nook for a several reasons.  First and most important.  While both have chargeable batteries, naturally, eventually the batteries stop taking a charge.  That is normal.  With the Kindle, you have to send the entire unit back to Amazon for a battery change.  With the Nook, you just buy a new battery at Barnes & Noble and put it in.  You are never without your reader.  The other issue for me was that the Nook has expandable memory with a chip.  The Kindle doesn't.  And now the Nook has come out in full color.  They didn't have that when I bought mine and I'm bummed about that.  But I still love it.  Also the Kindle has lots of little buttons and a raised keyboard.  The Nook is all digital.  Less to break.  I got the one with the expanded 3G capability so I can download no matter where I am.  I highly, highly recommend it.  Best gadget I've ever gotten.  I've even told everyone who asks me what I want for Christmas to just get me Barnes & Noble gift cards.  Hello, my name is Stephanie and I'm a Nook addict.  LOL

So that is my recommendation.  I know your guys will love it, not matter which you get them. If I don't talk to you, Have a Merry Christmas.  We really need to plan a time to meet and see each other.  It sucks we live so far apart.

Love you,
Steph

P. S. Kitties are doing better.  Still having some sniffles and my little Speck seems to have developed a tumor.  We are watching her carefully.  She has a little trouble getting around.  Not a whole lot of energy.  But she makes it to the kitchen to eat and the litter box to do her business and up on the couch for some snuggle time. Until she can't do those things anymore we'll have her with us.
