My Scheduled Surgery~~never happened !!
Hello to all fellow Connecticut ladies n gents!!
I had a severe attack in my colon of diverticulitis,,I was admitted thru the ER and was in for 8 days n nites ,,,with a raging fever//antibiotics and all that it took to keep me from getting my colon partially cut out
~~~theses surgeons wanted to get me in day 2 and operate..and being a nurse...I told them to back off,,and give me a chance to try the powerful antibioticsand liquid diet(low residue)!
I finally got discharged 2 days before my scheduled surgery(July3rd)~~~I can`t begin to tell you,,,,what I`m feeling now that Im home alone~~~no more support thru Danbury Hosp. and not knowing if in the future I should pursue this "life altering" surgery ....knowing that the house surgeons told me that if i had had my RNY 1st then had an attack of diverticulitis and HAD to have part of my colon out,,,I`d be in very big trouble(life threatening) Soo..I`m sitting here kinda at a loss after all I`ve been thru,,yet I thank God for being home finally coming thru slow but sure this infection and pain....and just gratefully taking it one day @ a time!!!
You are All welcomed to read my profile...when I 1st started my quest for GBSurgery (at Eastertime)....and now only 3 months later soo much has unavoidably...NOT gone as planned at the very last minute!!
The only positive thing I can truely be gratefull about Is that it happened for a reason,,,one of those"there are no accidents" and the fact that I have lost 25 lbs since I got admitted to the hospital 2 weeks ago(june 22nd to the 1st of July),,,my surgery was scheduled on the 3rd of July @ Danbury Hosp. I now weigh 240..and I healing my colon,,,,,,,and rethinking things!!
Please write and help me thru theses days,,,I`d love and appreciate your support!!
Sincerely,,Lucia Marie
...being that I`m in a kinda limbo rite about now!!
So yes,,I`d love to hear from you,,,,,Im not sure how to do a Pm thru here,but my email is;
you can get me there and then hopefully we can talk thru the phone,,,,I`m having a hard time typing,,the bending on my laptop is killin my abdomen,,,so please write n we`ll talk,,!
thanks, Lucia MarieLucia Maria, I hope you are feeling better. That is the most important thing now.... time for you to heal, physically and emotionally. I know how disappointed you must be but things do happen for a reason. I have been approved for the lapband, but I need to wait until I have my parathyroid removed. My doctor's office told me I must be 100% healed before I can have the lapband surgery. This is giving me time to reflect on my options. Maybe as you recuperate, you can investigate the other surgeries available. Feel better soon!
Good to hear from you Tina,,,,,and YES,,,,,thats exactly what I intend on doing in the next 3 weeks,,,,,is heal up the colon,,,,,,,and soon I decided if I should go back to the original plan (RNY) or do the lap!!
Meantime I`m tring to take advantage of the nice 65 to 75 degree days of our Conn. summer
Thanks for your note,,it`s sooo welcomed
Sincerely, Lucia Marie
