Medical Clearance

Question all regarding medical clearance: My appt with my PCP is on Wednesday to make sure I can have this surgery. The scheduler just called me and said I had to bring paperwork with me to make sure they know what needed to be done. Has anyone else run into this. I left a vm for Lois and also emailed her to see if she has the paperwork but should my doctor(pcp) know what kind of tests to run. I have had numerous problems with this scheduler so I do not know if she is giving me hard times or is this the procedure. Also if anyone has a copy of the things that need to be done it would be helpful. Thanks, Toya

Dr. A's office will schedule you for all the tests you need for medical clearance. What you will need from your PCP ia a complete pre-op physical within 30 days of surgery and a letter of medical necessity. That's about it. All of the rest is done by Shoreline Surgical Associates. Peter

Thanks Peter, I was scheduled for a physical anyway on Wednesay so I guess that is all they have to do. Thanks for info I will inform them that when I go.

Ya know...not to contradict my good buddy Peter....but I actually needed a full physical and an EKG done and then a letter from my PCP to the surgeon saying I was clear for surgery. Not sure why I needed the EKG...but...that's what they asked for. Lois can be a bit...shall we say...unresponsive. It's not you, it's just the way it is. Keep on pestering until you get the answers you need. No need to have to do this twice, right? best, Lisa

Uh mum...................... an EKG is a normal part of a pre-op exam. Exactly who do you think you're with??? Peter
