It has been at least a week and I have been flirting with the same 1-2 lbs weight loss and gain. I am frustrated and worried that I might be doing something qrong. I have been writting everything down and getting the protien and fluids but this does not seem to be helping me to lose pounds. Any suggestions on what to do? Has anyone had this problem? It seems too early since I have been out of surgery for 3 weeks now. I would have thought plateaus would not be happening for several months. I am going to try kicking up the exercise but I am feeling kinda bummed out about this. Pattie

Pattie, My advice to you is staying away from scale! Did you excerise everyday or what? I excerise everyday and drink alot of water between meals. I understand you are feeling bummed out but try to find new excercise like go to swimming exercise, look around excerise club around your hometown or do you want my personal trainer, Linda? She can come to your house to do excerise. let me know if you want me to give you her phone number and email address. Please email me at [email protected] because my pager is broken :O( Hang is there and you will lose more weight . That is why I refuse to weight at home because it droves me crazy and put me down. Pattie, Plateaus are very normal at three weeks out. Don't let it get you. Even though you are not losing pounds, you are probably losing inches. My surgeon said that every once in awhile, your body needs to catch up with the weight loss. Don't get discouraged. It will kick back in soon. Don't be a slave to your scale as you will often lose inches instead of pounds. Maggie

Pattie, Try not to get discouraged. I completely understand what you are going through. I hit a plateau about the same time and it lasted about 2 weeks. I wanted to scream. I did loose inches though! Just be patient w/ this proccess. Make sure you are getting your protein, fluid and exercise and the scale will start moving again soon! Carmen

Thanks Friends..I decided not to get on the scale again. I have also decided to hit the gym everyday if possible and to make sure I weight everything I eat. It is good to know the plateau is kinda normal..thanks for the support. Hugs Pattie
