Just wanted to update on my 6-month check up I had with my surgeon today. I am down 104 pounds altogether, since I started the pre-op diet in March. I asked him how much more I could expect to lose, and I was hoping for a definitive answer. He said I am already considered a success, because I am on the high end of expected weight loss with this surgery. Then he said I can expect to continue to lose at a much slower rate over the next six months to a year, but he couldn't give me a number to reach... All of my blood work came back normal. my cholesterol is down to 148! That is great in itself. I feel awesome. The only thing I need to work on, he said, was cutting out caffeine. I am down to 2 cups in the morning, which I enjoy. But I suppose I could try decaf. And, I need to increase my exercise. I am only exercising 1-2 days per week. Bad...I know. I need to motivate myself, no one can do it for me. I know I need to do it much more, he said 4 times/week minimum. Plus I look like a jelly roll naked, so exercise would tone that up alittle... Kick my butt, will you?? Ok, I have gone on long enough here...Thanks for listening. Anne

Anne- You need to update that picture! Don't be too hard on yourself about the exercise...you have done remarkably well in the past six months! I did without coffee all summer after my surgery...and just the past month or so have been drinking half-caf in the morning...I can tell the difference in decaf..but the half cafe tastes pretty good! Just a suggestion... Hugs Joanie

What wonderful news! That cholesterol is AWESOME! You are truly an inspiration to us newbies. My parents loaned me their treadmill and no lie, they plunked it right in the middle of my living room. The thing just stares at me and tells me "get on!!". If I didn't have it right in the middle of everything, I don't think I could manage to get in the exercise as much either. Awesome going Anne! Anne, I am so happy for you. I wish that in six months I am in the same position that you are in. I do not have any advice regarding coffee because I never had any but keep up the good work. Toya

yummmmm Jellyroll. (oh- wait I must have th afternoon muchies- nevermind!) You're doing great Anne! Keep up the good work. You've got lots fo time to continue loosing and working that tool. You just have to decide what makes YOU happy for a goal. Try to find some form of exercise you like to add in to your routing. Try different things. also- you could go 1/2 caf on the coffee to slowly detox.

Anne, Congratulations on your 6 month checkup and that wonderful weight loss. The cholesterol is fantastic!! I will be having mine checked for the first time on Friday. I really hope I don't have to go back on medication and it is as low as yours is. I hope you will start walking. After a while it becomes addictive and I am at the point where I can't stand it if for some odd reason I don't walk. Good luck to you and believe me with or without the exercise you still look great! Anne, Congrats on your fantastic weight loss - just think what it was like 6 months ago (or maybe you don't want to remember!). You have done a great job. I am sure you will excercise more when you are ready. At least you are doing it twice a week - better than nothing! Take Care, Nancy K.

Anne, Congratulations on the great report!!!! I know what you mean about giving up your caffeine. I have gone back to the hard stuff myself after surgery. But I have been having so much trouble getting my fluids in without being able to count that in that I am going to have to go back to decaf. I don't think I can do full decaf though, so I am going to try 1/2 hi test and 1/2 decaf. Maybe that will help you too. I am also having trouble working exercise into my routine. It is hard forming that habit and always has been for me. It is so good for us and helps with the energy level. We can all use more of that, right? okay so that was a small kick in the butt. I need one too Again, that is such awesome news and for only 6 months!!! Great going! Thanks for the update. terri

Anne- That's great! 104#, great job! I know what you mean about the exersice thing. Some weeks I don't even make it to the gym, but you didn't hear that from me! It all depends on what else I am doing. You are doing a terrific job, keep it up! Christine-111
