met Dr Valin / cat scan?

Hello everyone, Happy Holidays to you! I met Dr Valin yesterday for the first time and I feel it went well. I've been told that he was a man of few words so I think I was well prepared for that. He told me that he felt I should have my gall bladder removed during the bypass and so I agreed with no problem. This means I will be having the big incision but again that's ok. Everything looked good with him and he said that he would be seeing me on Dec 30 for my endoscopy. I return home that afternoon to a voice mail that my chest xray came back with some abnormality and that I need to have a cat scan (that can't be the right spelling is it?) on Sunday Dec 26 or else they will have to cancel the surgery. Naturaly I will have the scan done because I don't want to postpone my surgery (Jan 4). I'm not freaking out about the abnormality. Once before when I had a mamograham done they found a mass of some kind and so I had to have further tests. The end result? They some how got the sticker in the wrong place and that is what was showing up! Now I can laugh about it but when it was happening I was afraid something was really wrong. So the fact that there appears to be an abnormality is probly something like a sticker or maybe my tattoo for all I know. Who knows, I just try not to jump to conculsions about things now ah days. I'm off to spend Christmas with my family and I'm going to have all those holiday treats that are bad for me but I want to enjoy them one last time. Jan 4 is my new life and this time the focus will be on me and not the food! Thanks for listening and I will talk with you soon. Anne B

Hi Anne I had exactly the same problem an abnormalty in my chest x-ray and I had to have a cat scan....turned out be nothing and it did not delay my surgery at all. It's good to check these things out. I'm sure you will be fine angel
