Staples

When can I expect to get my thirty two staples removed? My surgery was on 1-4-05 and I had my gall bladder out at the same time if that makes any difference. Anne B

Hi Anne Sorry I can t help you with this because I do not have staples when I had open RNY by Dr Aranow. I want to say Congrats on the losing sides!!! Kathy K

I got mine out on my first post-op appt (10 days out, I think). I had Lap and everything healed VERY quickly too.... Hope this helps! Carmen

Anne- I also had 32 staples, maybe that's Dr. Valin's lucky number. I had every other staple removed at my first post-op appointment, then the rest, except for 3 at my second appointment. I had some issues about healing up so eventually Deb had to, I may spell this wrong, quarterize my incision. Do not worry, though. I was the exception-not the norm. I have lots of sensitivities which probably slowed my healing. (I'm allergic to latex, some metals-even surgical steel at times, and that paper tape they stick all over you at the hospital.) I had my gall bladder out during my surgery, too. Hope this helped! Stacey 254/192/???
