TIRED ALOT
Hey WLS Family:
I can seem to shake being tired.
I have been post op about a month. I take my vitamins everyday and I follow the menus Dr. Barajas gave me. I even make sure I do protein shakes too.
I can not sleep at night and then I am tired all day. Is this normal or should I be doing something different?
I know it takes awhile until your energy is real strong after surgery, I have been walking but not doing anything strenuous.
Today I also had my first dumping experience, I added some marinara sauce to a mashed potato and boy did I feel awful after that.
I guess I won't be eating those anymore.
Well if anyone has any suggestions for me I would appreciate it. Especially since I am on purees, I am only following the doctor's menu and its not much but I am being a good girl.
If anyone knows the answer to why I am so tired, I would appreciate the help.
Love ya all

Hi Kim,
I wish I could give you a better answer, but, You just had major surgery and this is your body telling you it wants to heal. I don't know why you can't sleep at night though. I think the tiredness will pass after awhile, but you need to try to get yourself back on track at night. Maybe a tylenol pm would help at night. Good luck.

Hi Kim
Have you walking like half mile or a mile? If you keep moving around then your engery will increase up. But I heard some people said they are tired and it takes time for them to increase her engery up or they might be depressed sign... I am not sure why you are tired. Mabye other people can give you better advice than mine. I never get tired after I had this surgery. I am lucky!

Thanks Heidi,
I am trying so hard to get in the amount of fluids, its so hard to drink alot. I get full so fast and then pains in the chest if I drink too much. I have been sipping water and crystal light all day long to get the amount in.
I will continue to do so and hopefully it will get better. I really appreciate you concern and advice. I can't wait to go for my month checkup next week to see whats up.
Your a sweetie too. Thanks again

Hey Joanie,
Thanks for letting me know that. I have been taking my liquid vitamins everyday like I am suppose to. I hope its not that. I am just hoping its part of the recovery process and my energy will get better as I do more.
You definately are a wonderful source of advice and information, and I really appreciate you always taking the time to help me. Thanks again so much.
Your a sweetie.
Hugs

Hi Kim!
For me, the magical week was week number 8. Once I hit my eighth week out, I haven't been able to stop since. I'm like the energizer bunny. I had such a hard time with being tired like you, but it does get better. It took my body a little longer to recover from the lack of nutrients and the surgery itself.
Now I can't STOP! ;)
Love,
Tammy
