Folks, Have my first fill next week and I wondered what to expect? Will I be taken back to stage 1-5 diets starting with liquid? How long will I be back there? Can I ask for more than 1cc?

Hi Sid I was banded on september 24 and I did not have my first fill until dec 29. Each doctor decides what the amount of your fill should be depending on your weight loss and the size of your band. My doctor reccomends soft foods for the next 24 hours. Good luck and feel free to email me if you have any other questions angel

Lap Band on 08/18/04 with
Hi Sid, I beleive that most doctors advise a soft or liquid diet for 1-3 days after the fill. With my first I did soft foods and had no problem at all. After my second fill I went right to solids and had to go back to mushies for a day because things weren't going down very smoothly. I wouldn't rush the fill amount. You might be surprised with the restriction that you feel with one cc. You might feel no restriction either. With the band you might have to go to four or more fills before you find that spot where it feels just right. One tenth of a cc can even make a tremendous difference. Doesn't seem like that little of an amount can make a difference but it does. I know it's hard to be patient in the beginning. I wanted to start losing weight right away but that is hard when you are basically as hungry as you were before surgery. It does happen with time. Just try to hold on a little bit longer and the weight will be falling off Eileen
