I am having surgery on Tuesday...any tips? How do they judge when you are ready to go home? How are the nurses? How long will they let your husband stay?

Hi Kristin , You will sleep at hospital for three days and go home in the afternoon on 4th days. The nurses at Middlesex hospital are wonderful !! Tehy have been very good to me when I was in the hospital. My hubby did not sleep at hospital with me but I rather him to go home and sleep on good bed than staying with me at hospital but he did stayed with me all day and early evening to be with me. Slippers Pre Card phone card Lip to make your lip moist x large T shirt to wear under for your binder to make more comfortable Good luck for your surgery and I will keep you in my prayers. Who is your angel? Kathy K

Hi Kristin; I totally agree with Kathy's advice. They have lots of experience with this surgery and the nurses and all of the staff are excellent! There was a reclining chair in my room and I found that I slept better in it than the bed. If you need something, don't be afraid to ask. The people at Middlesex really try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They want you to walk and I did so much of it that the nurses were teasing me that I was looking to break the milage record. I just found that it made me feel better; passed the time; and helped me sleep. It also got me in the right frame of mind for exercising when I went home. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers on Tuesday. Looking forward to hearing from you when you become a "Loser" like me LOL!!! Mike
