EATING TOO MUCH
Ok, I'm about 2 months out. I started working with a persona trainer and doing cardio daily. All of a sudden, I'm hungry more. I was drinking 1/2 a myoplex shake for breakfast other half for lunch and then something sensible for dinner. Now I have the whole shake in am and a small lunch and dinner and sometimes feel the need for a snack. Is this normal. How do you tell if its head hunger? My stomach feels empty and growls now which it didn't before. Is there something wrong. Laurie B.
Laurie, as you get further out, you're going to be able to take in more at a time. Doesn't sound like you're eating too much to me. What does your Dr's plan call for at this stage post op? As long as your within the guide lines for that, you should be fine.
Head hunger plays a big role in the early stages and it's sometimes hard to tell the difference. This to gets easier to deal with. I think you're doing just fine.

Laurie...
The key to your post is that you are doing cardio daily! That increases your metabolic need and you DO require more calories! Watch your weight loss. If you are eating the little bit more that you are now and STILL losing weight, that is PERFECT!. If you are losing weight now but begin to slow down or stop while still doing the cardio...then you might actually have to INCREASE YOUR PROTEIN to meet your needs and start to lose again!!!!
Listen to your body... it is telling you something! If you need to snack, make sure it is protein that you are eating!
Congratulations on your committment to exercise!
