Stuck again!
Hi everyone,
Well July 21st was my 1 yr annivesary for my WLS. I was down 80 lbs when I saw Dr. Bell. Now, again, I am "stuck" not losing and up 1 lb down 1 lb. I've tried everything
Only thing I see that's happening is that my rheumatoid arthritis (in my ankles) is preventing me from doing as much exercise as I would like to do. So until the pain eases up a bit, I'm really stuck. My rheumatologist referred me to a podiatrist just to make sure I don't have a stress fracture, because of the swelling. So I'm feeling a bit down
.
Thanks for letting me vent. This too shall pass.

Hey JA
I am sorry to hear this but have you try to go water exercise class? It is more easier exercise in water than do exercise on the ground. you can ask Joanie about this because she go there and love it alot. I know it is not easy to have rheumatoid arthritis because my aunt have this and I have seemy aunt to handle it very hard to move around from this arthritis. I am praying for you!
Big hugs on the way to you !!!

OK... you can't walk. There are other exercises which you could do....
weight lifting and strength training, yoga, even riding a stationary bicycle might be possible because you would not be putting pressure on the feet itself as compared to walking or even riding a regular bike.
JA, you are close to the queen of plateaus. As with all things, this too will pass.
I know Melissa's JRA just had another flareup and was not in good shape from it either. Tougher to deal with after a RNY, isn't it!
Hugs. See you at group Monday?? Remember dinner afterwards.

Hey JA,
Its ok, just relax and take it easy. Give your self a break once in awhile. Its ok to feel alittle bit down, especially when your in such pain. I know because I have a bad back.
Like Kathy said, try some water exercise if you have a pool. It really helps ease the muscles. I try to do alot of swimming in the summer to help strengthen my legs and back.
Well you take care of yourself and just pamper yourself alittle. Soak in a hot bubblebath, have a glass of wine and just chill, you deserve the break.
hugs

Hey J A, don't let yourself get down! Remember that "Patience" is one our most valuable tools on this journey. Take the time to check your calorie intake on "Fitday", and if that checks out look for alternative excersizes that can be done. I was stuck last week and it was nerve wracking for that week and its at those times those gremlins that want you to eat things you shouldn't are at their strongest! Don't let them win!
Everybody is different on here and 80 pounds is nothing to sneeze at so be proud at what you have accomplished and keep looking forward! Best of luck to you and hope your feeling better soon! Be well!
