OK, I don't like alcohol or anything, but what I am asking is can post-op's drink? And if so, what can they drink? Also, is it true that people with our surgery can only have a little bit and be rip-roarin' drunk? I ask because I get slammed with this question all the time and don't know the answer. Can you tell I have friends who like to drink?

Hi Paul, One glass of wine does it for me, and if I have two forget it - I am drunk.... So yes after surgery you get slammed much quicker.

Hi Paul, I find that wine affects me more than anything. Must be the sugar content in it. I get tipsy on a glass very quickly, but it doesn't last long. I didn't drink right away (I think you should wait at least six months), but I do have a drink once in a while. But honestly, I prefer to eat my calories. I love food. ;) Tammy

I have been consuming alcohol since about five months post op. I do tend to get drunker much quicker so I nurse my drinks more as I go. I drink wine, low carb wine coolers, twisted tea and have drank beer. When I drink beer I shake it to get the carbonation out. I don't have a problem with alcohol at all, but have heard that others do. Maggie

You definetly become a light weight and a cheap date after surgery. I have tried wine and beer, nothing to fancy and not in alot of quanity. My new favorite ****tail, if I am going to indulge is Raspberry Ice Crystal Light with a splash of vodka and a lime. Nice and refreshing.

For a big girl, I could never hold my liquor. So even now, after surgery, I walk past an open bottle and I need an escort home. So at this point, I don't even bother.

Hey Paul, Wow, buddy you look fantastic. I love your new photo. Boy are you one handsome guy. I miss talking to you, hope all is well you look like your doing great!! I am so proud of you!! :dance I can only drink one glass of wine or any other type of drink. I did have two expresso martinis and did not get sick. But I drank very slowly. I did notice how quick they rush to my head, more than before. I guess our bodies change with our tolerance for the drinking. So be very careful. Hugs KimC

Yeah I get drunk with about 1 full size drink post-op. It doesn't last long, but it comes on much stronger. After 3 drinks I'm gone for the night. LOL
