Newbie ~ finally coming out.
Hi all,
My name is Christina and I am pretty new to these boards. I am looking to find people that are interesed in chatting about WLS with me.
I know a lot and have done quite a bit of research, but still feel like I have questions. Not really sure what the questions are... they may just be feelings of being scared about having the surgery. I am seeing Dr. Aranow and should have a date with in 2 months (as per Dr.A). I am 100% comfortable with Dr. Aranow but just scared of the "unknown" factor and I was told that this is totally normal..... Is it?
I was just wondering ... what is an angel
and how can I get one?
I look forward to meeting you all,
Chrissy

Hello Chrissy!
After you're on the boards for a while, you'll start to chat with people that you may want to ask to be your angel, or they will offer to be. If you go to your profile & then your support page, there is an option that explains it all about angels.
Thanks for giving our board a try.
Please email me if you have any questions/concerns.

Hi Chrissy,
Welcome aboard!!! You'll find tons of support on this CT board and the main message board. Just ask and you'll be sure to get some form of answer.
I started this entire process in May, by going to Dr A's seminar. I had my first appt with him in June and completed all of my pre op testing during the June, July and early Aug. Now it's mid Sept and I'm all set, approved by BCBS and have a date for the 28th of Sept! It does go quickly.
I was at the support group meeting on Mon nite too! I wish I had met you! I sat near the door and got up and closed it when it got noisy! Introduce yourself next time if you see me. I can't be there this next week, but I'll probably be there the week after (two days before surgery) and then back when I'm recouperated.
It sounds like you're learning a lot about WLS. Don't stop, theres a wealth of info out there. I went to my library and looked up WLS and found some books. I took them out and read them. There's tons of info on the web too. If you show in your psych and dietician appt that you're knowledgable and you start losing your weight now, you'll get cleared faster for surgery. I only had to see Elina once!
Email me if you ever have any questions, ok? And keep us informed!
