Epigastric Incisional hernia??? Anyone???

Hi all...well I went to the Dr today to find out what this HUGE lump is that has just appeared in the past week. And yes I was right it is a hernia. Mine is painful....do any of you have experience with this? And what do I have to look forward to? She told me to call my surgeon right away in case it strangulates, but chicken that I am I will call tomorrow and today come to all of you to see if anyone can calm my fears of this! Yes, call TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the meantime, wear your binder. It will help reduce the chances of a problem. Peter
