Hi everyone! I just wanted to send out my thanks to everyone from the boards that supported our 3rd annual Walk from Obesity on Saturday! It was a FANTASTIC day and I hope you all had as much fun as I did!!! The sponsors were fabulous and many are STILL contacting me hoping to keep in touch with us and help out our community in any way they can. We have tons of pictures from our official event photographer on their way - I'll post again to let you know where they'll be! So great to see so many of you!!! Stay tuned for info on the 4th annual walk!!!!!!! Hugs, Carla

Hey Carla, I just wanted to say thank you for coming into my life. Your a wonderful person and inspiration to me. I am so glad we have met and that I am part of such a wonderful group. OH has been my lifeline and my savior through the good times and the bad times. I had such a wonderful time on Saturday, it was so great to meet everyone and see all the great support we received from sponsors and of course all our surgeons and staff. I was so excited to see my surgeon Dr. Barajas with her daughter and of course Dr. Reinhold, Dr. Valin, Debbie Valin, Jessie and others from St Raphaels. I hope next year we can get more sponsorship from our hospital and local businesses in our area. I do wish we had more coverage from the news and the papers though, that would of been so great to get the word out there. Anyway, thanks Carla so much for all your hard work and dedication to our wonderful group. Your such a sweet and caring person and your always there for us. Thanks so much. GREAT JOB EVERYONE, IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY WITH ALOT OF BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs KimC

Hi carla! Your Welcome! We had such a great time. Tom still can't get over how awesome you look, he did't even beleive it was you when i pointed you out. Your mom is a sweetheart! We are so happy we did the walk! I think next year the boys (especially Jamie) will be better, Tom got a good arm workout carrying him for about 1.5 miles.... but he was tired and cranky so we unfortunatley took off shortly after we finished the walk and could'nt enjoy the picnic! But we were there in Spirit! It was soo good to see you again and everyone else too! We have a great group of people on these boards! I can't wait until the next outing or get-together because now we have 2 babysitters and I can get out more! Yeahhhh God Bless Everyone! Carla Hope to see you soon! MaryJo

Carla- it was great to see you (and everybody else too!)! You looked wonderful. I'm glad I came. I easily could have stayed home and 'licked my wounds' from surgery some more, but getting out and DOING something was great therapy. (don't know if my Dr would have agreed, but, nothing ventured, nothing gained, I guess) What a beautiful day and what a wonderful way to spend the morning. It was great to see alll the supporters of the walk there and GREAT to have so many sponsors present. Great job on the Carla! know everyone will join me in extending their thanks to the many sponsors who were there to support the walk agnd inform us about their service/product. Take care all, Lisa C.

Carla THANK YOU!! You worked hard--as did the others to make this event so perfect. Even the weather-how did you manage that? Its so nice to have events like that and the OH board gatherings through the year so we can connect. It is really a wonderful means of support! Kudos to you on a job well done! Love, Joanie

Jess! I was meaning to catch up to you after the walk to 'officially' meet you! LOL! Thanks for the walk/jog time it was a lot of fun! As for support groups - There is one on Mondays in Hamden at the Senior Center behind the library 1st and 3rd Mondays each month. Not sure of the time, but several people here on the boards go - Deb Marcus usually posts about it so look for a thread on that. I facilitate a group that is open to all 1+ yr postops, on the 4th Thursdays of the month at St Raphaels (Auditorium Conf Room) at 6pm. This group also meets on the 2nd Wed of the month, the facilitator is Chris Lodi for that night. So a few options...email me if you'd like to chat! Hugs, Carla
