I think it's finally my turn!!!!

Hi all, Well I think my patience has finally paid off I enrolled in my own insurance plan (instead of my DH's) and they actually cover Obesity surgery. What makes it even better is that the Fairfield Bariatric Group is in network. I keep having to pinch myself!! It seems to good to be true - I might have to do a supervised diet - not sure but I've waited this long! I can't wait to call the office in the morning! I am doing the happy dance! Hugs, Nancy K

Hi Towanda, After all my research and meeting different docs, there was no way I was going to give up. My meds are going to cost me a fortune on this plan but at least I get a chance to become healthy and live a good life. Thanks for all your support! Love, Nancy K

Hi Joanie, You are right - my type 1 diabetes was an issue in finding the appropriate surgeon who will work with me and I finally found that doctor!! I will be driving for an hour and a half to get to him but it will be really really worth it. It then became an insurance issue because my DH's insurance had an exclusion for any Obesity care, Morbid or otherwise, Surgically or non surgically. I bought into my own plan (I am a contractor at Pfizer so I have to pay in full for my benefits so I was always on my DH's). My plan won't cover some of my meds as much but will cover WLS! I am so happy and scared at the same time!! I will keep my progress posted! Hugs, Nancy K
