Support Group Meetings Mon.
Hi, All!
This coming Mon., Oct. 17th, is the 3rd Mon. of the month, so there are support group meetings in both Hamden and Middletown. The Hamden group (which isn't affiliated with any doctor or hospital) meets at the Senior Center (behind the Miller Library on Dixwell Ave.) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. It's for both pre- and post-ops and is open to everyone.
The Middletown group meets at Middlesex Hospital from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Although most attendees are patients of Dr. Aranow, anyone is welcome. This meeting is for both pre- and post-ops and will consist of general discussion, questions and answers.
I have an appointment with Elina (the dietician) late Mon. afternoon, so I'll be hanging around Middletown for a while and then attending the Middlesex meeting.
Who else will be there? And who wants to join us for dinner afterward? Dinner isn't just for post-ops; everyone is welcome to come. And if you'd rather eat before the meeting, please come anyway and just have something to drink. The restaurants we go to don't mind. The point of going out after the meeting isn't the food; it's the additional support and the opportunity to get to know each other better. It's part of why I travel over 30 miles each way from Hamden to Middletown for a meeting instead of attending a Hamden meeting the same night less than 3 miles from home. Not that the Hamden meetings aren't good, but when you include the time at the restaurant, I get a longer evening of support by going to Middletown.

P.S. For those who were part of last week's discussion regarding meetings on Halloween, there is a meeting that night, but it's not the usual type of meeting. I don't want to get into the specifics now and confuse people...I'll post the info. next week.
I can't make the hour ride on Halloween either...gotta get the kiddies out for trick or treats...this year mama can't have any...and that does NOT bother me!
You may see me in Middletown this next Mon though..I'm feeling stronger and maybe can drive myself...Have been very tired at night still..so we shall see...I'll just be two and a half weeks out...
