Mon. Night Support Group Meetings

Hi, All! This coming Mon. night, 11/21, is the 3rd Mon. of the month, so there are support group meetings in both Middletown (at Middlesex Hospital from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.) and Hamden (at the Senior Center behind the Miller Library on Dixwell Ave. from 6:30 - 8 p.m.). The Middlesex meeting is for both pre- and post-ops and will consist of general discussion with questions and answers. Although most attendees are patients of Dr. Aranow, anyone is welcome. The Hamden meeting isn't affiliated with any doctor or hospital. It's run by a couple of post-ops and is open to everyone, both pre- and post-op. This Mon. there'll be a speaker, Terria Linn. She's a therapist (some of the members of the group are her patients) and she's been lapbanded and lost 300 lbs.! I've been told that she'll probably be speaking about body image. I've heard her speak twice before and she's excellent. Others who came from a distance to attend a meeting when she spoke have told me that it was worth the drive. If anyone needs directions to either meeting, please e-mail me. I'll be at the Hamden meeting. Who else will be going? (I'll save seats in the "CT message board" section.) Debby, Can you get me Terria Linn's contact info? I am looking for a new therapist, as both of the psuchologists associated with Dr. Arranow's program don't take my insurance......Thanks

Hi Debby, Thank you for the reminder. I will be at the Middletown meeting. It will be my last one as a pre-op This whole process took less time than I thought it would from reading others posts. I am one of the lucky ones. Who ever is going to the Middletown meeting... see ya there! Hugs, Chrissy

Sorry, won't be able to make this week. I am feeling better but its still all I can do to get through work. No energy for much else. I hope other people attend though, I really found Terria Linn interesting when I heard her speak a few months ago.
