Looks like I'm in the minority, but I LOVE Chatfield Hollow!!! http://dep.state.ct.us/stateparks/parks/chatfield.htm I practically grew up there in the summers. It has a freshwater man-made lake. It is perfect for swimming and fishing. Lots of trees, trails, and even a covered bridge. Not to mention a beautiful walk around the lake. Again - I know I am the minority, but I had to voice my opinion.

Thanks Sandy, I love it there too, but we have decided on Hammonasset. I hope you will still come. Hugs KimC

Hi, Kim! Maybe I'm confused, but didn't you say in an earlier post that we were going to hold the picnic somewhere that (for a change) would be a shorter ride for those in Fairfield County than where it was last yr.? Granted, Madison is a little closer than Waterford, but wouldn't Hamden or Shelton be closer? Of course, I've never been to any of the 4 choices, so I don't know how they compare, other than geographically. Is Hammonasset primarily a beach or would we be in a grassy area with trees like last yr.? (I wasn't at the walk, so I don't know.) Hugs, Debby

Hey Jen, Madison is on the shoreline between Guilford and Clinton. Its a beautiful area, right off I-95. Hope you can make it. Hugs KimC

Hello Debby, Yes I did say that earlier, but after talking with everyone and researching areas I found that Hammonasset has the best facilities for our group and even the people from the Norwalk area agreed. There are alot of pavilions and the beach is beautiful. There is alot of grassy areas too. I grew up on the shoreline and have been here numerous times and its a great place for family and friends to get together. Milfords place is just a beach, no pavillions. The other two places would of been too too far for everyone, so since Hammonasset is off of I95 its easy to find. We have all pretty much agreed on this spot and I know it will be great. So we hope you will come. I will be posting the final plans as soon as I reserve the pavillions. Thanks for your input. Hugs KimC
