with eating.  :(

I'm not into these liquids!!!  I find I'm not eating much b/c I'm not hungry. Hahahahaha, never thought I'd hear myself say that, lol  But when I HAVE to eat it's all BLAH.

I'm getting my protein shake in and some other random liquids to stay hydrated, but food.... uh uh, doesn't sound good.

Any suggestions?  Is this normal?

I'm on full liquids for quite some time longer :)

You have to force yourself!! We all feel the same at first. But you have to do the work, it is called a tool for a reason. I am almost 5 weeks out an never thought I would forget to eat ...well, I have to remind myself when I need to eat and just as importantly drink! Fluids are just as important.

Actually it depends on your Dr.  I also had a huge problem getting all my "full liquids" in.  My Dr told me that was ok so soon out, but I really needed to at least make sure I got my 40gms of protein in a day and close to the 64 oz of water.  Check with your Dr.  when do you have your first post op appt with your dr?  write down questions for him/her.

I am almost 9 weeks out and I still have a hard time eating.  Food just isn't the same anymore. (that's a good thing for me)

Yes, it's normal.  You have to force yourself to eat.  That is why everything you eat early on is so important.  If you don't eat you will lose muscle mass and not get the nutrients in that are necessary.  So...not fun...force yourself to eat.  I added a little spinach to my diet early on too (frozen, cooked in the microwave).  I don't like spinach...but I know it has a lot of potassium and iron.  I ate the spinach for my health.  I drank the protein shakes for my health.  Early on it helps.  A few months down the road you will have so much more variety of foods available.  But for now...FOLLOW DOCTOR'S ORDERS!!  Brian

I make my protein shakes with a scoop of cottage cheese, a container of Dannen carb control yogurt and my protein and water/crystal lite.  I get in 45 grams of protein in first thing in the morning and...........it's way yummy.    You may have to wait to do this but make your protein drinks with crystal lite and change up the flavors.   Hang in there  It's one step at a time and right now your little baby tummy is just that........... a baby learning to do what it needs to do all over again.  Be gentle - you wouldn't use borax on a baby now would you? 

Hang in there.  Concentrate on other things that spark your interest.

If it makes you feel better I am really beginning to HATE the taste of water and I never thought I would do that.  Now what?  I get in my 64+ oz per day but  blah.  Today I'm putting a lemon slice in the water.  Tomorrow it is a lime.

Hi there angelette!!! Get use to being bored with eating and not being hungry, it is now a part of your normal life!!! Never thought I would say those words either, but it's true!!!
Try to find ways to make the protein shakes taste good, just keep experimenting!!  Have you tried the Fage yogurt yet? They can be very yummy if you get creative!!  Hang in there sweetie! You are still very early out, it takes awhile to get things in, just do your best!!!         bigg huggs, Becky
