WOW!!! Moment

My sister was shopping at Lane Bryant with a friend a couple weeks ago and picked up a few tops for me that she found on clearance ... Two of them are 22/24 and one was 18/20 ... The 18/20 was the only one I could wear with stuff I already have, cuz it's grey and black and silver, but I figured it'd be a while before I fit into it anyway, so it didn't matter. Well, I have bought a few new things but not a lot and I am tired of all of my new clothes already, so this morning just for the hell of it I decided to put on the 18/20 and see how much longer it was gonna be before I could wear it.

Imagine my shock to find that IT FITS! And not only does it fit, but it fits well enough that I am willing to wear it in public! The sleeves are a little shorter than I like, but they're acceptable ... I'll just try to keep my arms down. Especially because I didn't shave my underarms today. LOL. I will not be waving at anybody!

I am continually amazed by my shrinkage ... The 26/28 pants that I bought just last month (I have big hips and a big butt) are gettin' too big, too ... They are probably going to have to be replaced soon - sooner than I expected!

Anyone know of a way I can get rich quick? LOL

P.S. I saw my surgeon's nurse on Thursday ... Got a lecture about not eating enough and not exercising (I hadn't been walking because I have been so lethargic), but other than that, all is well. I am getting back into my walking routine and I swear to God I'm not trying to be difficult about the eating - it's just that nothing is appealing to me right now! I see my primary physician a week from tomorrow and more than likely I will be taken off my BP med completely. By the surgeon's scale, I am down 77lbs ... By mine, I'm down 81 ... Guess whose number I'm using? LOL

Awesome!!  You'll be out of those 18/20 before you know it...so wear that shirt as much as you can!!  Places like Ross, Wal-Mart and the clearance rack at Old Navy come in really handy...resist the temptation to buy lots of clothes if you can.

I started out a size 26 last year and there were a fw sizes that I skipped over completely. I think I was a size 22 for about a week, it went by so fast.  Now 14 is sneaking up on me!

Food is often unappealing to me too, but YOU HAVE TO EAT.  Funny how eating becomes a chore, huh?  You're doing great, keep up the good work!!

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Congrats to you.  I know how good that feels, as just this past Saturday, I fit into a pair of shorts I have not worn for 5 years!  It is so exiting.  I have saved my clothes, believe that or not!  So I have more than enough to get me to a 18.  But when I get below that I will have to shop till I drop and I just can't wait.  Keep up the good work you are doing wonderful!

First of all, always use your numbers if they are better.  Just a head game, but it works.  Second, I didn't have any smaller clothes, because I was never smaller, well I was when I was 18, now almost 60....crap I can't believe how time flies, anyway, I have had the pain and agony (yeah right) of having to BUY clothes. I am now the size I was in high school.   Here's the best thing, WALMART clothes fit.  Expecially pants, they are so much cheaper and make it easier to dispose of them when you rush through another size.

Remember this about eating. I am one that had a hard time eating and getting protein in, and I am still NOT the best, but when I stopped the eating process, I felt awful and I was tired all the time.  So eat that protein and you will find you will feel alot better.

Good luck, Diane

Woo hoo and congratulations!!! I think we need to see a picture!

Let me tell you, the armpit shaved thing is a new phenomenon and it is an every day thing! Who would have known!!!  lmao It's wierd, I won't do a tank or sleeveless shirt, but I've done like cap sleeves. There really isn't much of a difference, but I just can't seem to do the sleeveless! lol  I say wear the batwings with pride, we've come a long way and deserve to wear cute clothes!!!!

Way to go!!! Girl you rock!! Now go eat some protein.. LOL I started out wearing mostly 20-22 now I am in 18 and the pants are getting too big. I have some clothes I can wear that are 16's after that it will be thrift stores or skirts with draw strings waist. I have save a nice chunk of change to go on a shopping spree when I hit goal. So I don't want to buy much. Now for those of you that work it could be a pain trying to stay in business atttire, but what a great pain it would be.

That is so cool.  I just had that moment a couple of weeks ago, and I was so stoked.  There is something magic about being out of the 20's and into sizes that you might actually find in a normal store!  In a couple of weeks, I might try to shop at Ross.  I've never been successful at that before...  I am so glad the Bay Area Meet & Greet is coming up, because I have a ton of 24's and some 26's and 28's to unload, and it is about time to unload the few new 22's, also.

Keep up the good work - and get that protein down!  -- Carol

Aren't those WOW moments amazing?  Congratulations!  I continue to be amazed with each size I go down.  I started at a 4x and am now in a 0x.  What a feeling!

It doesn't matter how fast it goes down, so long as you get where you want to be. :-)
