Scared
I also have blue cross PPO through my employer and the process was so easy. I had aproval in 4 days. Please do keep in mind that each plan is different and have different requirements but I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

I know waiting is the worse. But I just wanted to say that hopefully it will work out smoothly because you have choosen one of the best surgeons. He is great!! I owe him my life really and in more ways then just for performing my RNY. When I became sick years later it was him that knew what to do. The doc's were still scratching thier heads when he knew what it was. Also the office staff is great. Sonya has watched out for me for and has been a great help to me and my family.
Good Luck!!

Being approved by the insurance company is actually an easier part of this process. Insurance companies are finding it is advantageous to provide the WLS for an appropriate candidate. I found the scariest part was the SURGEON'S approval!! I had a date and everything, it was a go, until the pre-tests (in my case my EKG) appeared in my surgeons's hands, HE denied me until my PCP and Cardilogist gave me clearnace. I haven't even had the WLS yet...(Monday 10/20..it's a commin"!!) and I feel safe and well taken care of already. As another poster said though, I'll believe it when I wake up in recovery..lol
Best of luck, you will be fine and there is always another bend in the road to lead you to your goal...
