Miralax
It works, but for me ONLY if I take it EVERY day without fail! If I skip a day, I don't go that day!
I put mine in my coffee every day, I figure the hot liquid just makes it work better!!
Yup, it is expensive, but worth it! They sell it at Costco cheapest, and also there are often $2 off coupons for it in the Sunday coupons (not for Costco)!!
Good luck with it honey!! I take this daily and 1 generic Colace daily!

good grief. You are scared to waste one capful??? To think of all the protein and vitamin supplements I have given away. hundreds of dollars, I can assure you.
Miralax has no flavor, but it will give the water a thicker consistancy, which is wierd. I think Crystal Light or sweetened tea would be better, although I don't mind thick water. LOL
I take DSS, or a stool softener, twice a day, per my PCP's orders. His wife had WLS years ago, and many of his patients have had GB.
I am chronically constipated (my whole 51 year life) and I was laxative dependant when I was in my 20s.
I had my 6 month appt Tuesday, and after I told her the above, my nut suggested I try FOS, or fructooligosacharides, which is a "prebiotic" that feeds the "good bacteria" that ends up promoting colon health. "Inulin" is another name for it. I have ordered it bulk from my health food store and will try that.

Turtle Girl, I know Miralax is exepensive but if you can get you PCP to prescribe it for you your insurance will pay for it. It is called Glyclox (I think) But like Bikki said everyday is the way!!
My pain meds cause terrible constpation, never used to be a problem but I have been using M.O.M when I really have to do something and so it NOW. I am sure you know what I mean. It has gotten so much wosre since WLS...NO fiber. So I started drinking ALL BRAN FIBER WATER and put Fiber Sure in my protein shakes.
You might want to try those. I used metamucil but now I can't drink it fast enough before it turns to gel yuck!
