Not so good last night

Well yesterday late afternoon I began to feel these really sharp pains in my abdomen and I couldn't figure out why. In fact I thought perhaps they were cramps although this hasn't happened to me since my twenties. And of course I started to believe that it was from the surgery. Well it appears that the chicken I had for lunch didn't agree with me - needless to say I was hailing to the porcelin god all night. Has this happened to anyone - eating food from a place you are very familiar with and suddenly wham! I guess I just want to know if this is normal.

Not at all uncommon, I know a lot of us have experienced eating something one day and it goes just fine and you eat the exact same thing again another day and it makes you sick as a dog!

Hope you are feeling better now!

Oh, also, a lot of post ops have issues with chicken in general...too dry or dense or something? Food for thought...(pun intended!)

Again, hope you are feeling better now!

I do feel better now. That's real interesting about the chicken, because it's not my favorite, but I thought I would switch what I've been eating and give it a try - so I did for a couple of days but will steer clear for now. Thanks for your help

I find with chicken you have to chew REALLY REALLY well!  I even take a small sip of water to make it mushy before swallowing, since chicken can be so dry.  I've puked chicken and since making the mush I've been ok.

I am 4 months post op now, and I find this happens to me still several times a week. I have given up on the chicken brest, and eat the dark meat now. The dark meat seems to settle better with it being moist.  I still cant handle any left overs at this point.  Hope all woks out

I don't do all that well with chicken for the most part. Ground meats or pork are my best bets. But no matter what it is Ihave to chew really well.
