Unfortunately, nothing bothers pouchy!

I've even had a piece of candy on Halloween (as a test, of course) and nothing happened.  I have only vomited 2x due to food stuck, me not chewing well enough.

I seem to have my same stomach of steel that I had before, lol

most days:  no eggs, ham, beef, chicken, noodles (even one bite), and left overs (food has to be fresh, not reheated), broccoli, onions, garlic, milk of anything shape or type.  What I can eat:  beans, fish (lots of tuna salad, fake crab dishes, califlower, small amount of potatoe or rice ok but I am trying not to eat carbs much, carrots, squash, applesauce, cream of wheat, oatmeal, flax ceral and peanut butter sometimes.  Most soups stay down ok.  I am 11 weeks out and still throwing up daily but it is getting better.  I never know what is going to stay and what grouchy pouchy is going to eject.  Oh well...

Being darn near 4 year out, I find that I can NOT do pork of any kind, white meat chicken or trukey, tomatoes, and depending on how I wake up in the morning, eggs may or may not like me. I stay away from bread, rice and pasta. I can do them all in small amounts,  but choose to NOT do them very much. Leftover are hit and miss for me.

Suger, I just don't do. That is a NO NO for me no matter what. If I dont try it, then I wont know if I can do it, I would rather keep in my mind that I WILL dump and I WILL get sick. For me on this its my WAY of thinking. Any thing fried tries to kill me, and some days yogart makes me sick, and others it fine. Go figure. The fun part is wondering what this day will swing.

Now here is a fun "food for thought" to much sugar free gum makes my pouchie ouchie. Take about gas. WOW!!! stay clear for sure. So I chew no more then 4 peaces a day.

Now remember this, Just because this stuff does or does not work for me or any of us, does not mean it will or will not work for you.  You need to hear YOUR pouch and what it is telling YOU!!! My pouch is not yours and yours is not mine. To each there own.

I noticed that no one talked about soda. We all know that is a NO NO! But I wonder how many will run from suger and yet drink soda?? I stopped drinking soda back in 2004, and have not even "sipped" since then. I don't miss it, much, but will not go back.

I wish everyone a great day and a happy pouch.

Fruit!! Still can't each much fruit at 16 months out!  Strawberries, watermelon, grapes....it all make my pouch growl.  I have discovered that I can eat apples though without any issues.

Rice, pasta....hurts my pouch.

I have sipped soda here and there, it doesn't taste good anymore and it irritated my pouch anyways.

I could not eat eggs for the longest time and now they go down just fine.

Ice cream, frozen yogurt....  ew. Gross.

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Dry meats dont work for me - eggs dont do well either.  Otherwise, I have a cast iron stomach like I did pre-op.    Now, I do not eat white carbs (rice bread etc) just because of the low nutrition value and over filling in a small stomach.  But I can tolerate anything - just in smaller servings.

Great question for making a person think!

For me...cows milk is a no-no, even non-fat. Some days cottage cheese bugs me, sometimes no, I just avoid it for the most part. Sugary things, of course, soft bread (I can have toast, the dry bread seems to do fine), dry meats, pineapple seems to be too sugary for me but most other fruits are fine....raw veggies for the most part a no-go...

Jinkers! Hello my surgery buddy!!! One more day and we will officially be 1 year old...yay!!!! I have a really hard time with chicken at one year out. Unless I cover it with some sort of sauce..it makes me have horrible stabbing sensations in my stomach. Fruit is fine but when I eat grapes it makes me feel like I am having a heart attack. Lots of shoulder gas. Eggs work some days, and some days not. I can eat sugar but man does it make me sleepy and pretty  much every time I eat (no matter what it is) I get a headache. So I guess we are all different, and like someone else said, every day is different! Good job everyone on your weight loss and at one year out, I would definitely do this again!

My nutritionalist told me that grapes are actually one of the highest sugared fruit (glycemic index format)...I didn't know that, I figured bananas or watermelon were higher.  The grapes are VERY capable of making the dumping syndrome activate...that is maybe why you feel like you're having a heartattack.  I was totaly blown away by that nutritional info..I don't even buy grapes anymore...and if i do..I'll be cutting them in halves or quarters when ever using them...jellos, ambrosia, salads. etc...

Hi Brian, I am 6 months out and pre-made frozen hamburger patties make my pouch a grouch. Other than that, nothing else has been bad on my pouch. Of course I still stay away from high fat, carbs and sugar.
