Good Morning Janine and Cali,

My moms back is worse so it is going to be a rough one today.  Hopefully it will ease up this afternoon and we can run a couple of errands.  Hopefully I can continue on the path that I'm on and get better.  I really want to make it to Tom's farms.  I look forward to seeing your grand babes and you.

Thanks all for the congrats on my weight loss.  Some where in me I know its a good thing.

Everyone enjoy the day

R.I.P. to the boobies Nicole! Janine, love your shout outs. I am hanging in there. I see my Urologist Monday at Stanford and I am sure we will be will be schedule surgery for the following week.
I am seriously thinking of going to San Ramon. I would love to meet some of the OHer's that I have come to care so much about the last couple months!
Well, I better get my but in gear and go pick up the french bread I ordered for the Luncheon and I have a ton of prep to do today!! I said on another thread someplace that I might never want to look at Spaghetti again after making it for 200-250 people. It is so worth it. The elementary school has an assay contest on " What being a veteran means to me." Some of these kids do a really great job! It is the 5Th, 6Th, and 8Th grades this year, Have no idea why the 7Th grades didn't do it this year. We also have some entertainment a sax player, chorus, and a band all perform. It starts a 11:00am and ends @ 2:00. Also the kids that won the contest read their essays. All in all we have a good time and great turn out.

Hi, my name is Linda and I had the bypass surgery in February 2002 by Dr. Rumsey in San Diego.  I live in El Cajon.  I am also a Kaiser patient.  I have experienced problems ever since I had the surgery including weight gain(although it is a well known fact with my family and friends that I eat very little), constant vomiting, and unable to eat so many foods (Chinese, pastas, etc).  I'm on several medications due to these problems as well as I have severe osteoarthritis so I am unable to exercise (I've had 6 different surgeries since the bypass having to do with the osteoarthritis) as well as 2 endoscopys due to my vomiting issues.  I am on 3 medications to help with the vomiting as well as vicodin, 2 kinds of morphine, etc. to help with the osteoarthritis.  I also have a hiatal hernia which doesn't help matters.  I retired 5 years ago after working for 34 years.  My main thing is that now, finally, I am looking for a support group that can possibly help me with my problems or give me some answers.  I also have 13 tubes of blood taken every 6 months and am having a great deal of problems with malnourishment.  Have you been able to find any help through Kaiser?  It seems every doctor I see doesn't realize what we have gone through except they keep trying to take more and more blood from me and force me on B-12 shots and taking more supplements.  So is there a local support group or something through Kaiser?  I would love to chat with someone who has gone through what I continue to go through.  Thanks for any help anyone out there can give me.  I'm getting tired of having to live my life like this and possibly regret having the bypass surgery.

My turn for a brain fart!  I posted today's post on yesterday's good morning. LOL

Good Evening Janine and California!

Just back from Fort Bragg.  CPR class went well.  We learned (AED) Automatic Electronic Defibrilator as well as basic CPR.

Yesterday I saw my surgeon.  He's happy with my progress and says I'm going to be a slow loser and probably take a full year to lose the weight I want to.  I'm to remain on 600 calories a day for another 3 months.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Janine & Cali Friends,

Sorry it has taken me so long to post. I have been super busy. I spent the day at my parents house today helping them out around the house. My research paper is about the ongoing subject of teen pregnancy. I chose that subject because of all the young girls in hollywood that are pregnant & role models for teens. Somehow all these teen girls have glamorized it, but really its a life changing event. Hope everyone had a great day today!
