Good Sunday Morning to all!
Chuck and I woke up to the news of the fires. We bounced it back and forth go or not. We normally go out the 138 to 15 to the 10. We decided that if the wack job that is out there with a match were to torch the 15 or even some place on the 138 we would be totally stuck or very difficult to get around. The 210, 5 and the 14 were all closed so we would of been in a bind. So the Roarks chose to stay home. We actually had a good day with each other.
Yesterday was my 4 year surgiversary. It was a very good day. We went to costco and I have almost finished Christmas shopping for Lindsey. We bought her a new digital camera and then to a professional cosmetology shop for some new shears. Dang little pairs of scissors are expensive. Took Harvery to the dog groomer. We thought that he had fleas but no. He has dry skin. Bought the cats a new treee house it was hysterical. You know my kids are never home anymore so when it gets to that point I will know what it feels like to be an empty nester.
Well, have a great day.
Liz
It sounds like everyone had a great time at Tom's Farm. Sorry I couldn't make it, maybe next time. It has been a rough few days around here with the fires and yesterday was a bad day. It was very hot and the air quality was really bad and I only ran 5 miles of the 9 we were running. I got really dizzy and started seeing stars. I have not stopped beating myself up for feeling like I gave up.
Kim, I am sorry they canceled the Pasadena Marathon, I thought of you when I heard the news. Sucks, but for the best. I can only imagine being mentally and physically ready to do the run and than it is cancelled.
To everyone else, I hope you are safe. I know there are a lot of people on the board from the OC area and I am a bit worried about them. My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by the fires.

Good morning everyone
So glad to get a few minutes to pop in and say hi.
things have been crazy here, work is kicking my butt, almost every weekend, but it's good work in the coomunity for comunity organizations... My sisters are in town from Folsom/cameron Park this weekend for my neices cheerleading competition so it's always nice to see them. This week I have to get back on track with my exercising, been only walking the dog, and nothing else.... soooo exhausted!
Hope everyone has a FABULOUS week.
Debbie
Good Morning Janine and Cali Friends!
looks like you all had a wonderful time yesterday! Someday I will have to come down there and meet you all!
I have been jus****ching the news this morning of the fires down there and I pray that they are able to get them contained soon. I couldn't even imagine, so my heart goes out to all of you who are affected by this. Please stay safe!
Today is my one month bandiversary! Woo-hoo! I am not losing any weight again.......do not feel much restriction and it is so hard not to eat what everyone else is having especially when I am the cook! lol I had a half of an english muffin with my scrambled eggs this morning and I feel it! I guess I didn't toast it enough.
I wish you all a great, great day as always and cannot wait to see the rest of the pictures you all took! It's kinda fun for me to guess who is who, although the name tags do give it away!!!
Jeni XO
I pray for all of you down there with the fires and smoke that it will pass soon and you will all be safe and sound.
Yes Janine, I play sax in a local community college symphonic band. Lots of fun and my release from life's stress (a good alternative to eating!) Been playin' since Jr. High (many moons ago) and still goin' strong.
I talked to the hubby about buying a WII for both of us for Christmas and he's all for it! YAHOO. Thanks for all the info on the Cali board last night, I read it to him and he was convinced. So, off today to go buy one to wrap up for both of us! Solved his Christmas shopping issues

Hope everyone has a great day, I really appreciate the friendship here on the Cali board and all of the great and positive thoughts and comments, truly a great place to "come home to."
Always,
Barb
It sounds like you all had a wonderful time. I'm sorry I missed it! The photos are great, keep them coming so we can live vicariously. :-)
Yesterday was my day of rest from my run/walk program. I didn’t run at all. (Pats self on back. I’m not always good about doing less than 110% even when I'm told to slack off. )
We drove to Petaluma for my support group meeting. It was a good meeting. I stayed and talked with a few people afterwards. A shift has taken place. The pre-Ops are asking me questions rather than me asking others. It felt a bit odd that I have experiences they want to hear about. Others were wonderfult about sharing with me so I shared with new folks.
We went to our favorite Thai place in Cotati, Thai Kitchen, with Wendy from my support group and had chicken satay (I ate ½ of one) and eggplant basil tofu (I ate 1/8). YUM We talked for quite a while about all kinds of things. She explained how to make my own greek yogurt. I’m going to try that!
Then we walked around in Oliver’s Market next door, one of the best grocery stores I’ve found, and picked up a few things.
We headed for Heart and Sole in Santa Rosa, which was recommended by another Oh-er, thanks Seht! I walked on their treadmill while they recorded my gait and they decided which shoes I should try. After trying them on and walking around for an hour, I decided on two pairs. I’ll work with each pair a week at a time and decide which I like best. I got
Pearl Izumi 2008 Women's Surge Running Shoe Style 5146
And
Brooks Ariel Stability running shoe 43303 131
I also got some Balega mosture manager socks which wick water away form my feet. Maybe I won’t have to travel with a second pair of socks when I go out walking now...
If I’m going to run, my feet are going to be comfy. :- )
Then we headed for Kohl’s to look at Felxees shapewear. Either they didn’t have my size, though one was marked 2X, or I just can’t figure out how to squeeze into those things. LoL I’ll try again in a next month.
Then off to GNC to get more Apple Melon ISOPURE Zero Carb and Pineapple Orange Banana. Unfortunately they were out of the latter but they were having a sale ($8 off a case) so I ordered more and will pick them up on the way out of town next month.
On to Trader Joe’s for fish, fish and more fish! I’ve never, in my life, eaten so much fish. That’s all I seem to want. I got the following:
Salmon Roullette Spinach Florentine stuffing, 6g carb, 18g protein
Pacific Flounder with crab meat stuffing, 7 g carb, 35g protein
Pacific Snapper filet 0g carb, 21g protein
Stuffed Salmon Belle Mer, 11 g carb, 27g protein (has rice, DH will eat)
Salmon Filet stuffed with shrimp, cucumbers and dill, 5g carb, 2g fiber, 28g protein
Tilapia, 0g carb, 22g protein
Orange roughy filet, 0g carb, 16g protein
We found a Hunan restuarant (Hunan Village) in the same shopping center as Trader Joe’s, next to Long’s. I had bean curd spinach soup, which was in a fish base and very good, the insides of 2 pot stickers and 2 scallops in hunan sauce (excellent). I was stoked up and ready for the 2 hour drive home to unpack the ice chest. We packed a lot into the day and had a good time.
