Good Sunday Morning to all!
Good Sunday Morning to you and all the Crew Janine!

Man, I had a great nights sleep last night and hope to recharge the batteries today by doing....
N O T H I N G !

Slept in until the unheard of hour of 9 am this morning.... that tells me I was a tired Bear after the last couple weeks. Thankfully the Santa Ana winds had calmed down by the time we got home from TOMS FARMS yesterday afternoon and didn't keep me awake overnight like they did Friday night. Friday night I was woken up several times an hour so didn't get much rest. This wind event is the worst of the season so far and my poor garden.... OUCH! Of course it happens every year, and this year I did a lot of prep work in order to mitigate the wind damage, but it always is sad to see my plants torn up by the wind!

They will come back in time and be beautiful once again.

And TOMS FARMS....
Wow, what a great get-together and I am thrilled to see the posts here that the people who joined in had a good time and liked the place. I think TOMS is a perfect place to have a get together and yes, I will put another one together maybe for late spring next year. D and I came home with six bags of goodies... produce, baked goods, sweets, nuts... love the shopping there. We outdid ourselves with the attendance this time with over 90 people. I counted up the sign in sheet which showed 87 and I know there were a few there that weren't signed in too. All the kids seemed to have a wonderful time exploring and doing the rides, magic show, mining for "gold" and enjoying the outdoors. I was happy to give out a lot of (((((BigBearHugz)))) to old friends and new acquaintance's alike. Jean it was a great treat to meet you for the first time along with Julie, Heather and Jim, Michelle (eggface) and I know I am forgetting some! BIG THANK YOUS to Sheryl, Judy and Nadine who manned the Welcome Table. Also to Katt and Reyna who did an awesome job with the Clothing Exchange. Correct me if I am wrong Katt but it seemed like over half of the clothes people brought got adopted? And bless you for taking the leftovers to the two charities you are giving them to as well.

Thanks to Sheryl and Nadine for all the great photos you took and posted. My photographer, well, he got like 4 pictures. That boy does like to socialize and chat doesn't he?
Love that man I do!

So my thanks to everyone that came out and made this a perfect event. But also, what a weird thing to have the fires and freeway closures make the trip home so difficult after such a nice day. Also sorry that the same prevented some folks from getting out to join us. Next time! Lastly, my prayers and good thoughts go out to everyone affected by these fires. It happens every year, and I sure remember the 2003 fires here in my neck of the woods, and this event is a bad one.
Make it a great day guys and hope to see everyone again soon!

Hi Steve, I think that about half the clothes were adopted. I even found a few things for myself. I wore one to the Brandin' Iron last night for a friends birthday party. There is a pic on my profile. I will be contacting the 2 charities tomorrow to make arrangements to drop off the clothing. I loved seeing everyone yesterday. Janine, you look amazing as usual. Lu, I just love you. Steve, you and Darrel are so special. You do so much for all of us. I loved seeing Heather and Jim. Heather looks amazing after having ps 9 days before Tom's Farms. It was good to see Monica and Jordyn and Monica's mom. Monica looks great and Jordyn is soooo cute! Rhonda and Jerry sure have their hands full with 6 kids, but they are a beautiful family. I really had a great time. I look forward to our next event.

Hello Janine and Cali~
Sounds like Tom's was a hit, sorry I missed it. Maybe next time I'll try to make the trip down. I hope everyone is safe from the fires and not having too much trouble with the smoke.
I am being lazy this morning but plan to go see the new Bond movie with a friend this afternoon and maybe dinner.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday and take care.

OK first off everyone who got to go to Toms Farm~ NO FAIR!!!! I was so pissed at my car, hell it aint even old. So instead of letting me use her car mom decided we could go do things together. I mean that was fine and all but if she had no other plans why wouldnt dad let me take her car?? So I went and got some new bras and the support wear I am going to need after my Panni Thursday (dang those things are a pain I would not wear one if I didnt have to). Well actually a week from that, I will be in a binder with gauze and drains for a week
. So something was accomplished, but I was so sad to miss the get together!!! As for my car my dad arranged special to take it to the shop today (benefit of knowing the owner 20 years). He really didnt want me taking one of their cars to the jail tomorrow, lol!! It is all fixed, but as he is he wont tell me what was wrong. To him that info just isnt a womans place.
Still pouting about Toms Farm, but hope everyone is having a good safe day!!! Be good to yourselves and those around you!!!
OH and Janine we will get together when I get out to the desert I promise!!!

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations.
I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty,
believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

It was GREAT to see you too, Janine!! Thanks for the wonderful compliments (blush)!!! I over did all of the hugging though. I have some swelling on the left side now. I go see my doc tomorrow so he can take a look at it, plus he is going to take out my draings!! Thank God!!!! I wish we could do more things!!
I hope all is well with everyone with the fires. My hubby and I lived in the Cascades apartments complex that burned down in Anaheim Hills. It was really sad to see it burn like that. I just keep praying for all of the people that have been touched by these awful fires!!
Thank you Steve for putting the Tom's Farm event together. It was also great meeting you and Darroll for the first time.
Hugs to all,
Heather
