ok - all I made it! Now what?Jeez - anymore jello, popscicles or broth and I will just die!
I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind words and encouragement last week on the day prior to my surgery. Yes I had panic attack after panic attack but some was medication induced.
So far I am feeling good - sometimes I think "what have I done?" and am having trouble wrapping my head around the whole thing.
Tomorrow I go back to the dr for post op and then get to eat soft foods- any interesting ideas to change it up a bit? Right now I can only think of mashed potatos, cream of wheat, and pudding. Please let me know if you have ideas!
Thanks and much love and peace to all!

High 5 Lori,
Congrats on making it 1 week. I also had a hard time wrapping my head around it, and asked myself, more than once, "What have I done to myself?".. BUT, then I had to shake that off and tell myself it is already done, and there is no changing it. It does get easier. I had mine done 1 month to the day prior to yours.
Here is something that helped me... I made cream of cauliflower soup, and it was yummmmmy... I cooked the cauliflower in chicken broth and after it was very soft, I put it in my Magic Bullet and pulverized it to a mu****hen added a bit of the chicken broth and some SKIM milk to it... A little sea salt and pepper and it was done. REMEMBER to eat it slow. (I use a baby spoon and a shrimp fork, to this day)
ALSO, you can drink the chicken broth you just cooked the veggies in and it tastes different.. (veggie broth), yummmmm
Good luck Lori, HUGZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ,

Thank you so much! I am going to try that - it sounds delish! I went for post surgery appt this a.m. - I had cream of wheat when I came home - guess what? nausea! Yow! It was that easy to get kind of sick. Well now I know.
Thanks again for your support and your suggestion - it is really great! And I am feeling better and getting a little more comfy with my body "re-wire". LOL!

Lori,
Glad to hear you made it thru your 1st Dr visit, although sorry to hear about the nausea. I can honestly say that I have not gotten sick at all since surgery. I have only had diahrrea a couple times. I was on liquid for a solid 2 weeks after surgery, I think that helped, PLUS I dont eat what I am not suppose to. I figure, I went thru all this and why take chances to go back to my old ways. (And I would in a New York Minute)
I am enclosing a web link to some recipes (from another WLS site). Thes are terrific recipes. I have made a couple and when you get to the point where you can start eating a bit more, you might enjoy them. (Salmon Chowder is OMG TERRIFIC!!!!)

I love salmon and will check that out right away.....this new eating is tricky isn't it. And I am with you - I would rush back to my old style - what does that say about food addiction and eating your own emotions?Ugh!
Hope your support group is helping - I may have to make my own.
Thanks again for the link.
