I am wishing you the very best of luck. I hope you figure  it all out.
I have medicare and medi-cal as my secondary now. But I have been disabled for 5 years (not weight related). And I don't know what I would do without both of them.

I have Blue Shield HMO and they cover WLS.  I found out the hard way that the medical group I had for over 15 years plays the delay game (did it with me for three years) until you give up.  I asked around at my local support group which PCP doctors were WLS friendly and referred to the surgeon I wanted.  Switched groups so that on the 1st of  the month the new PCP would be in effect. Called and made an appointment. Took a copy of the letter thats on the top of my blog with me. She said I was a candidate on my first visit with her!!!!  Still had to do the 6 month supervised diet and all the preop tests, psych eval, etc.  Blue Shield HMO paid every dime!!  All I pay is my $5 office visit copays!!!  Even my psych evaluation was covered under the behavorial health plan. I did have to call around to see who took my plan as payment in full as some psychs said the evaluation was covered but the report was not. Bulll Pucky!  Found a local one that covered it all with no cost to me!! Worth the phone calls and research before I switched groups and doctors!!!
