Hi I'm new. Intro

Hello All!

My name is Becky and I'm new to the site.  I'm 33, married, and have 1 DD named Maggie.  We live in Orange, CA.  I'm currently trying to get my medical group to approve me to go to LA for surgery.  I should be approved soon and will be able to start my journey.  I'd be going with Dr. Jeremy Korman of LA Bariatrics. 

I currently weigh 260lbs and need to lose this weight fast.  I have a disease called intracranial hypertension/psuedotumor cerebri which will cause me to go blind.  If I lose weight there is a chance I could go into remission and save my vision.  I spent a lot of time convincing my husband that this was the way to go and he's finally on board!

I thought I'd join the board so I can have someone to talk to that knows the ins and outs.  Hopefully I'll be going to the seminar on Jan. 10th!

I too am just starting my joruney, I have my RNY on December 15th and am very excited... The family and I will be in your area in a couple of weeks.. One last trip to DL before I start this...

Welcome to the Cali board, we're happy you're here.  I will be having my RNY in Jan so we will all go through this together on our way to the "losers" bench.  I will keep you in my thoughts so that things go as planned and your disease will go into remission.

My hubby was apprehensive about my surgery too. Now he tells his heavy friends about what a life saving succes this surgery can be. He is 100% behind me. Take your hubby to a support group with you, he will learn alot and see how well people do after surgery.
