I pulled a similar "stunt" with my OB.  I was 3 weeks over due (only had sex one time the month I conceived so I know when I got prego). My OB went to India, I had been to Labor & Delivery 9 times with contractions less than 4 minutes apart, but the OB on call stopped my labor because the date in my chart said I wasnt due for a month.  Was swollen like a blimp and had toxemia.   One of the nurses told me when he would be back. I was there the minute they openned the door, insisted on an exam by the DOCTOR, and waited. Three hours later they "fit me in."  Doctor told me I was fine and they would see me next week. Bull crap!!  I was very vocal. Insisted that they wrote the date wrong. Check my pregnancy test levels from my blood work. Even the date on the test clearly showed I was 3 weeks overdue.  Insisted they induce me. No such luck. Was yelling at them in the office, and made it clear to the 20 plus people in the waiting room that he was putting the health of my baby in danger and couldnt read simple dates on tests, charts etc.  Went shopping and 4 hours later when I got home the hospital was calling saying the DR would induce me.  When I delivered that night my son got stuck and they had to literally pull him out. When I delivered and they weight him in the room my son was 10 pounds and the OB sayss "Oh maybe you were 3 weeks overdue." Duh! Then my son spent 2 weeks in ICU with issues due to toxemia, stress of delivery, and other issues we are still dealing with.

See the doctor...Be very VOCAL!!!!! Make sure you take someone with you.   Insist he prove that your GI idoctor is wrong or that your surgeon needs to correct the problem.  They dont want bad public relations because we all know bad PR gets around faster than good PR.  If that doesnt work, go to the hospital where your surgeon did surgery with "complications" and insist he come see you at the hospital!  Make sure YOU see the results of the test. Fight for YOU!!  If that still doesnt work the doctor is an incompetent . a..... who doesnt care about after care.  I am sure that probably is not the case but its the impression he has now given others of his care.  You can bet I wont recommend that surgeon to anyone and bet now others are now a bit concerned.

Linda,

You really need to go and sit in that drs. office until they see you.  Don't take no for an answer.  When my youngest was about three, he had a terrible ear infection.  When I called the on call pediatrician (Gary's regular doc was out with his wife having a baby), they asked if Gary had a fever.  I said no, he never gets a fever with infections though.  They told me that couldn't be true and wanted to schedule me in five days instead of seeing him that day.  I said I would come down there and sit in their office with him screaming with the pain until they could find an opening to see him.  They didn't believe me.

I went down there with Gary.  He was whimpering and crying because he felt ****ty and he had an ear infection.  After about an hour, they told me I was going to have to leave or they would call security.  I told them to call security because I had to call the local t.v. station and tell them what was going on.  Miraculously, Gary was seen about three minutes after that. The doctor was shocked that he had an ear infection.  Duhhhhhh, I had been saying that all day long.

GO SIT IN THAT OFFICE UNTIL THEY HELP YOU!!!

Hugs!!
Jillie
