Does anyone know of any Central Valley Support Groups

HI everyone, it has been a while since I have been here.

I went to my seminar and before I can see the surgeon for my first consult I have to go to a wls support group, pre-op group is best.  If I can't find one near me...stockton, Lodi, elk grove modesto, etc. I have to drive Tuesday night to Oakland where I will be getting surgery.  It is an hour and a half drive so I was hoping I could find one around here.  Thanks, Lisa

There are a couple in Modesto.

1. The first Monday of the month at Memorial Education class on McHenry in Modesto at 6 p.m.

2. There is a support group the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month in Modesto I believe on Norwegian?

There are groups of us that meet occasionally in Manteca/Modesto. Would you like to be included? WE usually meet informally, for lunch or coffee. We always talk about having a regular time to meet each week. Maybe you could join us!

HI all, Yes!!!  I would love to come to any group on a regular basis.  I do need to bring a letter for the head of the support group to sign that I attended so I can send that to my surgeons office.  It is required before meeting the surgeon.  I don't know if it has to be from a group they are aware of or just any group.  The forth tuesday is this coming tuesday or anytime soon so I can get the letter off.  I just don't want to drive all the way to Oakland for a group I can attend here.  thanks all.

The one that's at Memorial in Modesto is pretty cool sometimes they give you some free bees and have guest speakers. The Memorial group is a pretty good size crowd.  The ther one at Bethal Church is a smaller group. Both ar run very well and I have attended both. Kaiser in Modesto also has a support group but I have not attended that one

We would love to see you at the support group Robert mentioned. Also it is no longer on Norwegian. We now meet at Bethal Church on Scenic in the choir room (across from the day care room). Park in the parking lot on the McGuire St. side of the church and you will see the Modesto WLS support group meeting sign outside by the door you need to go through. It is from 6 to 8 PM the second and fourth Tues. of each month. It is a nice group of people. Some of us car pooled to the last two O.H. events and we are going to the one on Dec. 6 in San Ramon too, we had a great time. We would love to have you join us for our Dec 6th trip. Come check us out next Tues.
