Has anyone ever dealt with Dr. Patrick Coates out of Modesto? I have my first consult with him on Dec 1st for a possible revision. Just curious what others thought of his work.

Thanks!

Honey, he is one of the top surgeons in this state!! Ireally trust him and respect him.
Now I will say you won't see much of him. He does his job and does it very will, be you won't see him at every visit.
Hope this helps.

He just did my surgery tuesday the 18th. He did a great job I had no complications and not much pain. I was up walking a couple of hours after and kept it up. The nurses could not believe how well I was doing.

I am so greatful to him for doing the surgery. I know I had the best.

Good luck to you. As Joy said he is a very busy man and you do not get to see him much because of it. But you could not asdk for a better surgeon.

I had Dr. Coates. No beside manner, but I'd rather have a surgeon who knows what he's doing than one who talked my ear off.

Dr. Coates did my surgery just over 4 years ago and I agree...he is a VERY busy man.  You'll most likely meet with his PAs for your preop/post op visits but he's a very talented surgeon and you're in excellent hands.  As far as his bedside manner goes, he is a quite shy man and not the most outgoing or talkative but is a very nice man.  It took me a bit to figure it out that he was just shy, but getting to know him over the years as a 'regular' speaker at their informational seminars I've gotten the pleasure of getting to know him better.

Good luck with your consult!

Yes, I just went through surgery on Nov 5th.  He was my surgeon.  He is nice, but you dont see him much.  Usually his nurse.  However, since yours is a revision, he will prob be seeing you.  I have about 20 coworkers and several friends outside of work that have all had him.  He seems to know what he is doing.    His office staff on the other hand, could use a little training in the organization department. However, from what i understand, most of them are new right now.  They are all very nice though.
