Good Sunday Morning

Good Morning Lu & Cali Friends,

Happy Sunday.  Well, I am a happy Cal fan this morning, the Bears won and the game was a blast.  I also had a couple of wow moments yesterday so that was great too.
1) I was able to hoof the Berkeley hills and keep up with my husband who walks pretty darn fast.  I am trying to get more exercise in before my surgery and I think it's paying off.
2) I passed on the junk type of stuff found at the game and sipped on my water and had a banana and I didn't get light headed.  This is a biggee for me.

As for Thanksgiving, there are just three of us and I will do the cooking.  My father in law is in a rehab recovering from a pretty bad infection so he is trying to get stronger.  We may try to bring dinner to him if they will allow.

We are going to decorate our house for Christmas over the weekend, and that will provide less time for eating and more physical activity, so that's a good thing.  We do lots of decorating and we so love it.  So focus will be on the spirit of the season and keeping busy with hands doing stuff besides eating!

Thanks Cali board you're the best, hope you have a wonderful Sunday doing the things that make you happy and healthy too.

Always,
Barb

Hi California and LuLu..good idea for this post!
This year will be a very calm holiday season for me.  I am still leading the quiet life after losing my mother and recouping from WLS.  Everyday brings on tears as we get closer to the holidays, but I know its normal and I am not stressing...I just let it flow.
Thanksgiving will be a real treat for me this year.  My husband usually goes to visit his mother way down south in Imperial county for Thanksgiving..this year I won't be going...I am going to a local restaurant for dinner with my children (3 daughters, with 1 fiance..my daughter's..not mine!..lol)  We not only found one that has a $5.00 off coupon..I also have a gift card to that particular restaurant!...Wow..eatin' on the cheap! I will sample a tad of everything and box the rest to bring home for at least 2 more meals. I will however miss the late night turkey sammys.  I don't have any temptation otherwise as I am keeping the baking and cooking to a minimum this year.
Holiday Blessings everyone!
