When do you think is the best time to start interviewing for PS? So far I have found 3 that I want to talk to. So far my # 1 choice is Dr Katzen, Who else should I  research? I'm 6 pounds from my goal and 20 from my Dr's. goalLAURA

First of all congratulations on being so close to your goal weight.

Secondly it is important to go with whoever you feel comfortable with reconstructing your body. It is important that whomever you go with that the doctor is a board certified plastic surgeon.

I am personally biased as Dr. K did all of my recontructive surgery. He has a lot and I mean a lot of experience reconstructing bypass people not to mention and few know this, but he also was a bariatric surgeon, but in those days thought it was too brutal of a procedure. He has dedicated most of his pratice to reconstructing formly obese people.

There are plenty of other good doctors out here. A lot of the gals have used Dr. Kent. Then there is Dr Q  (don't really know his real name) but he is in Mexico and is with CosMed. Dr. Hurwitz does some of the conventions, but I do not know of anyone personally who has used him.

The two other doctors who I mentioned along with Katzen, I know people who have used those two doctors with great results. Like I said, I am biased about Katzen, but the most important thing is to go with a doctor who is board certified, someone who will let you speak with his or hers patients, and someone you are comfortable with.

Good luck with completing your journey!

Dr. Mariotti in Concord is the best there is in my book.  He has done my tummy, butt, arms and breasts.  I am thrilled with my results and highly recommend him to anyone wanting any kind of PS.
I started looking into Plastics before my weightloss stopped because I did not know how long the process would take and was putting in for insurance to pay for the tummy and arms.

Laura,

I am big on Dr. Ronald Rosso in Torrance.

He does the whole nine yards on WLS and gets great review from OH members as well as the general public.

I had my nose badly broken by a esthecian and went through a miserable three years before I went through several medical referrals before I found him.  The surgery had to be done open, instead of through the nostrils with a little snip but he did such a great job and you have to look for the scar on the outside of my nose.  He has terrific credentials, excellent experience, and is very compassionate and kind.  If I need PS when I have met my goal, this is my man.  He is so awesome!

Most of the doctors want to make sure you are stable in your weight.  I have been stuck at where I am at for over 6-9 months now, I really don't know for sure, but I still need to lose more, but I saw several doctors at the OH convention.  I am going to make an appt with Dr. Lee.  He seems to do some terrific work, look at Heather at Tom's Farm and how well she was doing 9 days after surgery.  She looks great and has a nice girlish figure. Go to alot of doctors, and look at the pictures of their work.  Make sure that the people have the body type that you want.  Also make sure that you have a doctor that does reconstructive surgery, and not just a plastic surgeon.

Good luck, Diane
