Kasier folks Northern Cali VSG?????

On another post  It was mentioned  Kaiser would do VSG.
When did this start or better yet who has been accepted for it pre-op or post ops??

Just wondering why this was not mentioned back in Aug 2008...
My Daughter  is interested and doen't want the  RNY..

I think I went to the orientation in Richmond (Kaiser) in July or August.  They said they only do the Lapband or RNY.   I haven't heard of them doing VSG.

They don't talk about it during the orientation. But Kaiser Fremont, Kaiser SSF and Kaiser Richmond all have at least one surgeon who will do the VSG.

You have to bring it up yourself during the surgical consult though.

The last poster is correct...Kaiser Fremont, So. San Fran, and Richmond is "quietly" offering the VSG.
You should post your question on the VSG forum.  We have a lady who is having a surgical consult today(in Fremont) Dec 1st, and she will ask for a VSG.  Iam waiting to hear what the surgeon says! 
It had been said that Kaiser would do the VSG on "select" patients.  Now it seems they are coming around...

Same with So Cal, they won't talk about or offer it but once you get through the classes and have your consult you can bring it up with the Dr, they offer it. Just has someone get approved for it through Kaiser in So Cal @ UCLA.

Might be easier to figure out which Dr offers it in your area then request your consult with him/her

I'm that patient who had it done in Fremont Kaiser I was Dr Dutta 3rd patient and I'm so excited about the results. 12lbs so far since surgery!! Yippee!!
