My Gram

I can certainly relate.  My husband's Dad went into the hospital on Election day with a bacterial infection in his blood.  He had a stroke about 4 years ago and has another neurological disorder which causes weakness.  This latest hospitalization has left him very weak.  My mother-in-law cannot bring him home until/unless he is able to ambulate, shower and use the restroom as she can't lift him.  We brought Thanksgiving to him, which I know lifted his spirits.

God seems to always give us more than we can handle at one time.  I will add Gram to my prayer list along with Lu's sister and Janine's son and all of our Cali board members who are dealing with loss or need support. 

I don't have blood sisters or brothers, but the OH is sure a wonderful family.

Please take care of yourself and remember the power of positive thoughts and prayers and let God handle the rest.

It is so nice that you brought Thanksgiving to him..  It is so hard being sick during the Holiday's, and I am glad you guys were there for him...  I will pray for him to get stronger everyday..

I just got home and checked my email the boards, and saw the latest about your grandma.  I'm so sorry, I know this has been so hard on you!  And to be going through all of this during the holidays, it's just too much!  I am praying for your grandma and you.  Please let me know what I can do to help.  Do you think you might be up to going out to coffee or something this weekend?  I would love to see you!

I  would LOVE TO SEE YOU TOO...  I am going to the San Ramon event this weekend...  Are you going, or is that interesting to you??  I have a hotel room, or if you just wanted to come for the meet and greet on Friday, that could be nice too.. I certainly understand you not being able to go, your brother is very important to you, but if you wanted to get together, that is where I would be..

My OH family keeps telling me to stay busy, and try to maintain some sort of normalcy and that my Gram would not want me to do the things that could help me in my Journey, so my DH has agreed, and I am leaving on Friday, and coming home on Sunday.. If you can't go, I can meet you on Sunday when I get back..   Just let me know hun..

Jenn he does listen, but you might not always get the answers you want if you know what I mean.

I know what you mean...   I almost just hope one way or another, either take her now, or heal her fast, cause it is so hard to see her like this.. And to see what it is doing to my Pop, he can hardly stand to go and see her, he is such a mess..  I do believe that he is meerly holding on for her.. He is in such bad shape too...  Just hard  ya know..

I do thanks you for your prayers, and will continue to keep your family in my prayers as well..

Your Gram will be in my thoughts.  I can never imagine loosing mine.  My Gramma raised me as her own.  To this day she is my buddy even though she lives in Arizona.  We talk almost every day. 

Thank you hun..  What part of Arizona, I am origionally from Tucson..  It is nice that you are so close to your  Gramma..   Cherish those moments..

She lives in Sun City.  She only comes out to CA once a year anymore.  She is slowing down.  Plus, as much as she loves us, my family of six and our busy days really tire her out.  I just wish she were here so I could take care of her when she needs me.  (She's not supportive of my WLS so maybe sometimes the distance is for the best.  haha)

Take care of yourself.  Stay strong for both of you.  Your Grams will be in my thoughts.

***hugs*** I'm so sorry. We went through a lot when my wifes grandmother was sick and finally passed, and I know it is just exponentially harder during the holidays. Your family will be in my thoughts for sure!
