Highly recommended date place, if you can get in.

So my husband surprised me with a date last night. He took me to get a nice dress, and new shoes... even took me to Lane Byrant to get something "pretty" to wear under the dress *grin*

We drive to Los Angeles, and end up at this place called the Magic Castle. It's an exclusive club, this is what the website has to say.. www.magiccastle.com ...

We had a beautiful dinner, I had Steak Milton - it was steak with asparagus tips and crab meat with a bernaise sauce - YUM!!! Then we saw some magic acts, ranging from up close hand tricks to stage shows. It was amazing entertainment! And then there's this ghost Irma - she's invisible, and you can ask her to play pretty much anything on the piano. I asked her to play Clare de Lune, and she did beautifully.

Now, how to get in. I don't know exactly how, but you have to either be a member or a guest of a member or performer. You don't have to be a magician to become a member, they have associate memberships. Nobody knows how much it costs, though, as they don't have it listed on their website. *grrrr*

We got in, because Jeremy's boss used to work at Disney with someone who now works at the Castle as a manager.

Yeah, it was great. If I find out any other way to get into the club, I'll post it!

Hubby and I are leaving on the 22nd to spend xmas and New Year's back in Wisconsin... snow!!!

Although I do have to tell you, I missed the California weather terribly while I was gone!!!!

THat is a wonderful date idea, I was going to take my husband last year but we had to cancel at the last minute.  You are right hard to get in, but I know a secret....... If you stay at the Magic Castle Hotel/Motel whatever it is, you can get into the magic castle without knowing anyone!  I hope to go sometime in 2009 again if I can ever find a babysitter for my 6 kids!  lol you up for it?  lol  Glad you had some awesome fun!

And I don't know if I could handle even your well behaved, good mannered kids. I get annoyed if my bird even makes a peep!! LOL

Way cool Paula!  How FUN!!!  Welcome back . .. and enjoy your Christmas in Wisconsin . . . I think it's been almost 20 years since I was "home" for Christmas . . . have a GREAT time!  My mom got a dusting of snow Sunday (Rice Lake), but my brother in Milwaukee got 4-5 inches . . . have fun!

Hey Linda! Love your avie!

I finally got word from debbie mcbride that they want me to be reevalutated by my psych because of my "partial mental breakdown" that caused me to go back into therapy, and ultimately, to Wisconsin for a month. But I should pass that with flying colors, my psych is super nice and really understands me. They had just changed my bipolar meds and I was having a heck of a time readjusting to it all, but all is well now!!! So I left a message for my psych dr lat night, so I will hopefully see her this weekend or next weekend.

Good luck at your surgeon's appt!!!! I miss seeing you every week!!!
