Hi ya'll...I didn't save the info that I saw on here about Kaiser in So. San Fran or Richmond offering the VSG because I thought it could be asked for in Fremont.  Well, not so.  I heard tonight that Dr.Dr.Dutta (in Fremont) can only be approved by Kaiser to go the VSG on "select" patients.  One has to have a reason, like scar tissue or something that prevents one from having a RNY.
Anyhoo, could you people who know about getting a VSG in the other cities I mentioned, please post the info...THANKS!

VSG isn't something that they openly offer at any of the Kaiser Nor Cal sites - you will probably need to call the Bariatric department at each site and find out what their criteria is - I have heard that there in only one doc in Richmond who performs it, not sure about S. San Fran.

good luck -

Can't help with that info but do you have any issue that would require you to take NSAIDs? that would make a VSG a far better choice. maybe some family history of arthritis or something

Hi Mobile, Can ya believe Iam going down yet another road?  Geeshh.....Ya, I need the NSAIDS.  I already have an appt.  I do need pain mgt. meds, I just am not a complainer, so haven't whined to a doc yet...lol  I'll make a pain list for my PCP...
I just checked the other Kaiser web sites, and will call next week
