Has anyone seen Dr. Leport and how was your experience?

From what I have understood from people that have gone to their group, they do great work.  I am sure someone that has had him will respond shortly.

Good luck, Diane

I am fine.  It was rough for me for awhile, but then I am not normal at anything I do.  Most on here would just say I just not normal period!!!!  I have lost 170 lbs in the almost 2 years in a few days.  Been stablized for quite sometime now, but I still need, or I feel I need to lose more.  I think my body is done though.  I would recommend the surgery for anyone looking to lose weight.  Just remember, it's a personal choice.  No surgery is better than the other, they all work on your insides and reroute, staple, cut out, and who knows what else with every surgery except lapband. We are given a tool, if we use it correctly then you are going to be successful, but there are ways to get around any surgery and you could end up right where you began.  It is life changing, and even tho I am older than most on here, I would not change anything, except wishing I had did this in my early 50's and not my late 50's.

Any other questions ask away, I will try and be a little briefer next time, if that is possible for me!

Hi,
I had my surgery through Light Dimensions (Dr. Leports group). I had Dr. Ali, but know people that have had surgery with each of the avialble surgeons in the group. Dr. Leport has an increadible standing in this field with a number of years of experience.

If you've already decided to have surgery, I'd recommend him (or anyone in the group) in a heart beat.

Rachel

PS. Dr. LePort has the longest waiting list of all of the surgeons.

I had Dr. Ali with LePort's group, had a great experience.  (It's all in my profile)

You can read doctor reviews here on OH and read about the experiences of many, many of his patients. His group is considered a Center of Excellence and it's a great program.

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

I used Dr Leport's office.  My referral was actually for him, but I saw Dr. Chin in the group.  I loved him.  I haven't heard any negatives about any of the Dr's.  The only problems I have had was with the "gatekeepers"  meaning the PA's in the office.  Sometimes it's hard speaking to the surgeons once you have had the surgery.  I had some complications but most are due to the way my body heals more so than the surgery it'self.  If you want to PM me, I can go into more detail.

Good luck to you

I had surgery wtih Dr. Leport.  I had a few complications but none due to the actual surgery. Just as Linda said, it was my body reacting to such a drastic change. I am 4 months out and doing great! It truly was one of the best decions of my life!

One of my best friend had him for a surgeon and at the time (at least 5 years ago now) he was said to be the best bariatric surgeon in Orange County.   She was very happy with him.  Also he owns a preschool where my son went and so I've met him a few times and know his sister pretty well.  Nice family.

Good luck.
