ugh!!! Another Infection???

I think I have another dang infection in my left breast or something is going on!  it's hard and swollen, (I'm totally lop-sided now) and it hurts!  I called the breast center where I had my steriotactic biopsy and they won't see me without a referral from my PCP....  i can't get in to see her until next Wednesday!  It's in the same spot where they took the biopsy.

I just don't get it.....  I read up on it and most infections happen to breast feeding women, and I am definitely not doing that!  lol  Anyone else ever get infections?

I want to tell you something.  Your PCP can give you a referral without seeing you. Insist that you talk to the dr or the nurse.  Do you have a medical group. Are you HMO of PPO.  You should not have to wait.  rattle those cages.  I rattle many cages for patients so go at them with a vengance.  This is your body and you do not need to let them push you around.  So, I am now off my soap box.  You need care you go out and get IT

I have an appointment today at 3:15.  I called again and told them I could not wait.  it's not with my Doc but atleast she is in the office if we need to consult her.

Liz is absolutely correct.  I often have called my PCP and gotten referrals without seeing them.  Especially if it is for an urgent followup.  I then give it a day and call the medical group for the referral number AND have them fax me a copy of referral.  I was just rattling the cages yesterday for Perry and a referral/grevience with the medical group.

I don't have anything esle to add that the girls above me didn't cover, but just wanted to wish you lots of luck in getting this cleared up, and to let you know that you will be in my prayers..
