Home from the hospital

I went to emergency on Sunday because I was severely dehydrated (due to the blockage) and they admitted me right away and I had emergency surgery Monday morning. All of my vitamin levels (vitamin B and potassium) was very low so I didn't get out of the hospital until Friday night, after much begging. I am feeling much better now, but am under strict orders to take it easy. I had a complete blockage at the animastasis (*sp)  sight (where the pouch meets the intestine). I had scar tissue on the outside of the pouch that was constricting it. I thank Dr. Coirin for acting so quickly and literally being a life saver. Thank all of you for listening to me also. It is nice to be able to vent

There are three ways of dealing with difference: domination, compromise and integration. By domination only one side gets what it wants; by integration we find a way by which both sides may get what they wish.........

Hi,
Well I am sorry to hear of your problem, but I am glad that you got
it taken care of, now hopefully you won't have any more.  Just
rest and take care of yourself, and hopefully we will meet sometime
and I hope you and your family have a nice christmas.

Thanks Judy! I cant even begin to explain how much better I feel after this surgery. It is nice to be able to eat and actually keep it down. I have tons of energy now, making it hard to take it easy because this is the first time I have felt back to normal in over a month. I am taking it easy though and luckily my family is doing all of the housework......there is some perks in this...he he! I don't go back to wor****il January.....more perks....lol. How are you feeling? Hope your family has a great Christmas also!

Thank you for your extra prayers! I see your surgery is coming soon. I hope everything goes well, without complications. But listen to your body...you know it better than anything. Don't be afraid to call your doctor, even if you think it is minor. In my case it saved my life. Doctors said if I had waited much longer it might have been too late. Good luck with everything and follow doctors orders to a T.

One of the great things about Dr. Coirin is he still does general surgery.  I think he does it at the Doctor's Hospital in Mantaca...So he knows his way around the body...not just bariatric surgery.  When he did my bypass, he checked my liver...took a polyp off of it and sent it to the lab.  It was nothing, but good to know the surgeon part of him is still active.  Get well soon...Sip, walk, and rest.  Brian

I am so glad you're okay!  I've been wondering how you're doing.  Hopefully things will be smooth sailing for you from hereon out.

I have not received my approval yet, I think (hope) Sherry sent it in last week.  I need to call on Monday.  I have been sick all week with a sinus infection so haven't worried about it.  Still hoping to have surgery second week of January.

Again, glad you're back home and on the road to recovery.  Keep us posted.
