So you took the easy way out and had WLS? Hmmm....

Hello my AWESOME friends in California.....oh how I miss the wonderful In & Out Burgers..and the beautiful California girls....oh my..  anyway...  Just thought I'd give you a fun little story I responded to earlier today.... 

I've got a friend in another forum that has been discussing different situations that people who have had WLS sometimes face.  I have heard of the conversation that some people have heard called "you took the easy way out and got surgery".... 

wow...I never knew that I did was so easy...like paying for it MYSELF...or the LIFETIME commitment thing....or having to pony up the money for a whole new wardrobe and new redefined healthy eating habits.  (I'm dying for a freakin' taco and there's NO tex-mex on my island...)   

We all know about the struggle... sometimes it's with the insurance company...sometimes a spouse...sometimes it's a doctor, or a best friend who is jealous... or coworkers who are miserable and must sabotage you or the sake of being green with envy..... there are a ton of ramifications these people never know about...  yet it's convenient to call it "easy"....if it's so easy why isn't everyone doing it?

Here's a little bit of my suggestion fo her...i hope you fine Texas folks can appreciate my love for the WLS community....and dark humor.....

I'm a RnY too...  I laugh in the face of people who tell me I took the easy way....  I give them the "special" finger and I fly it proudly see, I also teach my friends how to do it....

THAT"S RIGHT ABSOLUTELY FREE....

LMAO!!!! That one particularly peeves me too....

I usually invite them to come spend a day with me...starting with all the vitamins (for me, thats 6 "doeses" everyday, 7 on the days I take my B as well), methodically watching every bite that goes in their mouth and reading labels and menus upside down and backwards to make sure they know EVERYTHING in their food, chewing it all to mush, eating teensy amounts every few hours to keep their energy up, buying new clothes every few weeks (which sounds fun, but isnt!), hitting the gym or the pavement everyday, and then spending half an hour of their time explaining themselves and their chosen paths in life to an ignorant idiot! Toss in the experience of eating something that pouchy doesnt like and the feeling of dumping. Hair falling out. Skin sagging and pulling and not being so comfy. Then tell me its easy.

Its effective, but I might switch to your method...seems faster for sure! LOL

Easy way out my a$$!  HA!  This sh*t is hard work.  Making sure you eat enough but not so much you puke.  Getting all your protein in.  Eating out with friends and trying something new and hoping like hell it decides to stay down and not make a rapid eject.

RESISTING SUGAR!!!!  Sugar is evil.  Evil I say Evil.  And Evil lurks everywhere.

It's not easy but I made this committment and am damn proud of it!  My eagle will fly if someone dares say this to me!

And just getting to the point of having the dern surgery is maddening!  

How you all lost the weight to just get the WLS deserves an award! 

Having never watched what I ate and then having to watch everything I eat is the hardest thing I've ever done.
