Good Saturday Morning Cali

There's no getting around it today is going to be crazy no matter what you are doing. Me - I am prettying up my Christmas puppy so they can go home tomorrow. I also need to make more candies for Christmas.

I made 5 dozen chocolate/caramel pretzels for a party I was going to last night. I took them in a gift bag and had 2 decorative Sleighs for putting them out for everyone but someone stole the whole bag of pretzels. I was a little disappointed that so few got a chance to have any so I'm making more asap.

anyways - No shopping for me today.

Good Morning All!  Thanks for the awsome shout-out Janine!  I am feeling really good about myself these days and it shows.  I'm not hiding from the camera anymore.  Had a mini WOW moment yesterday!  Jayden's mom took a look and said "I can see between your thighs!"  Ha!  That hasn't happened in a zillion years! 

Today is going to be a fun-filled action paced day!  We're going to a true redneck birthday party for a 12 year old!  It's MUD BOGGING!  All the kids are taking their quads or dirt bikes and there's this awsome mud puddle they're going to play in!  Gotta love them rednecks - they do know how to play!  Hahaha

Joe and I worked out a plan and if the state does shut his job down, he's going to get his knee fixed.  It'll be a partial replacement with a 4 month recovery time but we'll just bite the bullet and get it done that way he'll not be in such great pain. 

I'm off to scramble some eggs for Jayden and myself and then off to the shower!

Well, I am hoping that the state does not lay off my hubby either.  What does your hubby do.  Mine works for general services.  he is not really too sure where he will fall in the grand scheme of things.  I am a bit fearful but it will be what it will be.

My hubby works for Kiewit and they build bridges.  They're working on the Cypress street bridge here in Redding and the state may shut down all those projects.  If they shut this one down they won't be able to start back up again for a year due to salmon runs and Fish and Game regulations as to when they can be in the river.  Sucks.  If it happens, he will get his knee fixed ASAP

Well, I will keep good thoughts for you guys.  I really hope that he doesn't get the furlough or ax.  I know we sure can't afford the state at this point.

Good morning Janine and Cali!

Party, party, party. LOL The little party at sammi's school was very cute. then Last night was a bit much for her. She was a little tired and it got late and she was being a bit of a pill. Still had a good time but DH was wiped out. Today I think I need to make one more batch of toffee. It always goes the fastest. Don't worry, I don't eat the stuff, I just make it.

Looking forward to only working 2 days next week. Also totally looking forward to meeting Jan on Tuesday for lunch.

Ding-Dong, Christmas Bells are ringing!

Good Morning to you and all the Cali Crew Janine!

Sorry I haven't been doing a lot of posting. Been reading a bit here and there but it is a busy time of the year isn't it? Also I've been pretty melancholy lately with my brother gone, Josie gone, going to my good friends memorial service last Saturday, my other good friend in the last stages of his terminal cancer, my Mom and other brother's own depressed moods, financial stress, job worries.... a fitting end to a crappy year I guess. Makes me want to crawl into a den and hibernate for the winter.

But that isn't an option so I try to keep a good face and remember my blessings each and every day. And there are many to be thankful for. 

So D and I will be some of those folks out shopping today! This was commission week for me so we can now purchase the few gifts we are giving, just to the kids. Mom needs to pick up a few things too so we'll have the old lady in a wheelchair to crash through those crowds!

Not to mention the handicap placard to hopefully score a parking spot. Unfortunately Mom isn't a morning person so we won't be heading out until this afternoon so the crowds should be peaking by the time we get out there. Oh well, I have always actually enjoyed the frenzy of last minute Christmas shopping. Crazy but true! LOL

Then this evening D and I will make home made tacos at Mom's for her and my brother. In the meantime I have a few things to get done around here before we leave so I'd better get a move on huh?

Thank you Janine!  I made fudge the other night with my neice and when I actually paid attention to the ingredients (old family See's recipe)  it's NOTHING but sugar and fat......ouch.  Didn't even want to.

I'm so sorry we missed the LB coffee again, but it's great to have some peaceful time, sort.  Sister called last night because she broke a tooth.  I think she wanted me to come home and take care of her.........makes things all better like I always do, but I'm taking this time for Dave and I this time.

I did bring warm clothing.  My dad camped out and went rock climbing for many many years at Joshua Tree, so I know it well.  Today we're just finishing Christmas shopping , getting some things we need personally, and going down to Palm Springs for dinner and a carriage ride I think.  Then drive around to look at the lights out here.

Tomorrow Joshua Tree or The Living Desert.  Who knows.

Good morning Janine and Cali Friends,

Janine, your shout outs make me smile thank you. 

My day yesterday started with my 1st migraine ever.  I knew when aspirin wouldn't cut it and from describing it to others, that's what it was.  It is no wonder considering the emotional week I've had with finding out my job would be eliminated in June.  Many of my co-workers are furious and will be going to the next school board to voice their opposition to the vote.  They told me it ain't over until the fat lady sings, and I told them, "ya, and she's gonna be skinnier by June!"

Despite a migraine, I made a polar fleece blanket and wrapped my last gifts for the season.  Put a fork in it, I'm done

Tonight we're going to celebrate an early Christmas with our dearest friend by going to dinner and a movie.

I hope everyone's Saturday is the best.  Stay warm and dry and enjoy the blessings of the season.
