Thank you Elfie Lola!
Lola aka Elfie!
Thank you SO much for my box of goodies. I love the scarf, my favorite color blue. Did you make that? It's so beautiful and soft. I love the CD and the footie goodies and the vanilla bath/shower goodies, man I am SO spoiled.
You are such a great Elfie. I can't wait to get to know you even better. Would you be my surgery angel? I would love it. I sure hope you have the best Christmas, you sure made mine very special.
Hey, got the final approval for my surgery today so we're good to go! Yee haw.
Now I'm gonna go read your profile. I haven't done mine yet, so I may be asking for help again.
Hugs
Barb

Barb,
First, I would be absolutely honored to be your angel. How far is Concord from Monterey? I am so glad you got your goodie bag. There is one more to come. I didn't make the scarf, however my mom made it. I told her about you and that your favorite color was blue, so she made it.
My page is very slim, in fact I think I am going to go update it and talk a little more about me. LOL!
Congrat's on the final approval. I am so excited for you. It is going to be such an amazing time for you. I am so blessed by this surgery, it has given me my life back. I cannot wait to embark on your journey with you. And I promise to be a good Angel.
I know you have had a hard time with work, and the distance from your children, however I also believe everyone comes into your life for a reason, season, or lifetime and I hope that our friendship last a lifetime.
Okay, I am getting teary eyed here. So, ask away. Ask as many questions as you need and I will PM you my email addy and telephone number.
Lola :-)

Cool, I have a surgery angel
thank you!
I am really getting nervously excited for my big day. I am worried I don't have all the stuff I will need when I get home, but I am going to dedicate the week after Christmas to deal with that.
Concord from Monterey is about 122 miles or a couple of hours. You live in L.A. area right?
I have to grab your address from the box you sent. My hubby took it outside already. I share your belief that everyone comes into your life for a reason and while work gets a little challenging and my kids are well my kids, it is what it is and I will deal with it all but friends make lifes challenges seem so much better!
Thanks again and we'll be in touch for sure. I am really excited about your LA Marathon. In fact, one of our closest & dearest friends (was one of our Ushers for our wedding, and gave me away too) runs full marathons and volunteers with kids out of Oakland who are at risk. He runs with them every week and they are training for the LA Marathon. He also rode in the AIDS Lifecycle ride last year from SFO to LA. We have sponsored him for the past 5 years, whether he has been a rider or a crew captain. One of these days we are going to crew with him. Me and the hubby would love to sponsor you too.
I'll PM you.

Barb,
I PMed you! Yes I am from the LA area, but hoping to move to the Monterey area in 2009. I will also be up there on the 5th to the 9th.
Being nervous yet excited is normal. You will not need much when you get home. Just make sure you get enough liquids. Don't go out and buy a bunch of protein because things will change. The first few weeks I tried different samples of protien I had ordered and kept track of the ones I liked. I would highly recommend Isopure RTD (ready to drink). You can find it at Vitamin Shoppe and buy one of each flavor. I also did a lot of broth, and Fage Greek Yogurt. Also, do you have your Calcium and multi vitamin. Let me know and I can suggest some good liquid Calcium and a chewable vitamin.
I am so honored to be your angel.
Much love,
Lola ;-)

Angel Lola,
Got your PM and sent you one. Cool that you may move to Monterey. I love the aquarium there and of course Carmel is so much fun. I used to spend summers there as my Mom had a friend who lived there. My good friend that does the full marathons took me to Carmel and Monterey over Mother's Day weekend this year so I could get my mind off of my kids. We had a blast as he and I love to shop. My hubby stayed home studying for finals.
I just have regular calcium and vitamins right now, so I would welcome your help here. I will get the Isopure RTD to have in the house. I have some SF pudding and jello and will get the greek yogurt too. Someone had posted to blend soups, would that be too thick in the beginning? I am not too much of a "broth" fan but I guess I could do it if I had to. I might ask my neighbor to make her broth as it tastes SO good. I have had her chicken or turkey noodle soup and the broth is the best part. I will get her receipe.
Thanks bunches,
hugs,
Barb
